My kind have always lived in peace and harmony. After the creation of the universe, The Trees Were given charge over every other creation. This made us decide how food and other resources are allocated. Being in charge of every other living thing made us superior and powerful.
The crazy thing about power was that the more power you have, the more power you craved. This was exactly what happened among my fellow trees. With time, some trees started seeking powers that would make them superior over other trees.
A certain tree made a deal with the devil. In exchange For powers, the tree was to help the devil get the life source of any tribe. The tree agreed and gave The devil the life source of the plantain tribe. This made the tribe to shrink and die slowly.
This was considered an abomination by the gods of the land, This Got Them angry and they punished the trees by sending plagues on them. The Great river which was a source of nourishment to the trees dried up.
This got the trees bothered and made them seek the seer to help them consult the gods on their behalf.
"A tree has committed an abomination! That tree has been given Five days to confess, or face the wrath of the gods. On that day, when the clouds go dark, he will receive a touch from the gods"
The seer said after consulting the gods
The guilty tree grew deaf ears and hardened his heart, believing that the devil's power would protect him from the wrath of the gods.
Unfortunately for him, on the fifth day, calamity befell him. Just like the Seer said, the clouds got dark and He was driven mad. The gods stripped him of all his stems and branches leaving him naked.
With this, The trees realized that he was the culprit. Once again they consulted the gods for instructions on what to do next.
"The culprit must be banished, and a white goat must be sacrificed to cleanse the Land."
The seer ordered.
The trees did as they were told. They banished the Power greedy tree and sacrificed a white goat to appease the gods.
After this, once again life bloomed in The Kingdom. The great river returned to it's glory and started flowing non-stop.
