What is good for the good might not be good for the gander. That's one of the adages I grew up with and I believe it's the truth. What we call fun varies based on our individual personalities. I love being indoors because that's my kind of person. Most people in my family are like that too. I do my best to have fun with the little things I do here and there.
I read Weekend Recap by and in his short post he said;
We had some sports that my son was playing, then went out to lunch for pizza as a family. We did a couple of other errands out, but tried to stay indoors in the afternoon as the temperature was near 100 degrees Fahrenheit - quite hot! At night, my grandfather had a birthday party - he turned 90!
This is a clear indication that what is fun to one person might not be to another. The most important thing is to define what fun is to you. He spoke about the birthday party and going out for lunch which I would say are amazing. For some, they get easily bored of gatherings but for others, they thrive in them. He buttressed the point that fun is relative and I respect that.
How Do I Spend My Free Time?
I can do a lot of things in my free time and one of them is to play football games on PlayStation. It ranges, depending on my mood. I can decide to watch a Netflix series too in that spare time and I am selective when it comes to movies. I also sleep and chat too. I have a lot of friends I relate with and we always have fun chatting and making each other laugh.
I believe fun is about creating moments where you get to ease yourself of the stress each day brings. It's about letting go of the things that can mess up your mood and get your sanity back. This is why it is relative because it can be in various ways depending on the kind of person you are. For indoor people, they try to find things within their space and for outdoor people, they get to explore more with varieties of things which eases them.
Why Have Fun?
Life is hard enough, let's be truthful. Adulthood is a scam as many people have mentioned. Nothing is easy and as we grow up we are faced with harsh realities. Having fun is to become young at heart again so we won't allow our lives to be cut short unnecessarily. Some have fun in the Gym while some just take a casual stroll while listening to music. The importance of doing all these is to stay healthy because having fun keeps us young at heart rather than assume all the troubles in the world.
How To Have Fun In Crisis?
As I said, life is hard enough and we have to look into little things to have fun. When sorrows grip your heart, try and watch your favourite movie or comedy. It has worked for me over the years. It won't be easy but it's an escape from depressing thoughts and the harsh reality of life. Resist the urge to get depressed but try and pull yourself up by giving way to the things that are familiar; favourite movie, skit, person, chat or anything that once made you smile. To some people, it can be another human. It's just an opportunity to forget what isn't working and focus on what has worked before; fun with a friend or things.
What's Funny To Me?
Comedies are funny to me and I watch a lot of skits too. Scrolling through my Instagram feed alone is enough fun because there are so many amusing things I find there.
Fun is what makes you happy. Fun is what gives you another perspective on what you are going through. Fun is knowing how to release those tensions and it can be with anything that catches your fancy.
Having fun is to release those tensions and be young at heart again.
Cheers.
