The biggest mistake you will ever make is trying to stop because you are afraid to continue in what you do. None of us did not get perfect at the beginning, we made mistakes, and we continued, hoping to be better because they say "practice makes perfect". So, it is with creating content on any platform you are on. Everyone I must say, weren't born a writer or blogger, we learnt it as we continued living our lives. Many of us found out about writing and we jumped at it, learning everyday to improve ourselves.
Being a content creator involves writing and blogging about everyday experiences, making a proposal for a company, etc. To be a better content creator, we need to keep learning from experiences and applying what we have learnt from others so we can be better at it too.
When I looked back to when I started writing, comparing it to my present works I have written, I would say learning has taken place, which I kept improving myself to become better at writing and blogging.
I have made mistakes especially in the use of English, how to arrange words in the right order and how to make my post catchy to readers. I checked other people's work and saw how passionate they gave time into blogging and creating beautiful content. You cannot make content in a rush hour or depressed state. You need a convenient space to cool your head off and be inspired. We write content through inspiration and when we read books.
Writing content isn´t an easy one at that, even if you are trying to narrate your life´s experience. Without the right word to use or construction, your daily experience might seem boring to your readers until you make a change. Some people are fond of making content and posting immediately without taking time to edit and proofread to check for mistakes.
There would always be mistakes in the first part of writing, especially when you aren't taking time to edit your content before you post it, your readers may find it difficult to understand your point and they would gladly swipe to the next post and before you know it, you are losing audience to your posts.
I love the part where says in his post that;
When you write, you should not be afraid of making mistakes. You should accept that mistakes are a part of the process and that you'll always make them, no matter how good of a writer you become and no matter what type of content you create.
Some of those mistakes will be the result of negligence. Others will be the result of stress. Some mistakes you'll make because you're tired. And others will be the result of distractions.
He was talking about Writing without fear which can be clickable. He talked about his mistakes when he was starting to write and how he overcame it through some process. He advised us not to make the mistake of editing our errors as we write but to put down all our ideas first, and then creating time to edit as that is the best way to put out good content.
I can't remember where I read it but the author said that proofreading or editing is very important in writing so that you can easily see your mistakes and correct them. You just don't post poor content to the world, who are waiting to read and learn from you.
What makes poor content?
It is lack of research, lots of mistakes in the use of words and grammatical errors. Another thing is being unable to use punctuation marks correctly which are very important in making a post readable.
Some people aren't even ready to improve especially where it is a paying platform and all they want is to earn and make money but the truth is that you cannot bring traffic to your blog if your content is not interesting to read.
You cannot make a content on a topic without researching and having knowledge about it first, because you will make blunders and wouldn't be able to justify your claims on the topic you are writing on.
This is why as a blogger, you need time to write. You need to research and make use of apps that can correct your errors just like the Grammarly app. Everyone isn't perfect but we need aids to help us improve and make our content standout.
Good content is original, actionable, and answers a question. It's properly sourced, unique, concise, grammatically correct and is formatted properly.
You need a comfortable environment where there wouldn't be any distraction or noise so that your mind can be focused on what you are writing. Remember you aren't writing for yourself, but for your readers to learn from you. You haven't made good content when your readers can't pinpoint what you are trying to say and that will be a total waste of time for you.
You need to have the knowledge of what you are writing on so that when being asked questions, you won´t feel embarrassed and become a mocking person. Be concise in your content because it is all about others and not you again.
You don't need to be afraid when creating content because once you have the right ingredients, you will be assured of putting great content out to people who are willing to read from you.
Thanks for reading.
