Not long ago I came across a blog post on another platform and reading it, brought back some old memories, as well as made me think of how people are brainwashed and how some chose to even brainwash themselves. Both are equally damaging but the latter is more dangerous I think.
Ages ago, I worked for a certain company for almost a year. It was not only the most damaging period for my health, but also had the most to learn there. I had a foreign superior, who, if I say it was strange, that would be an understatement. At first his behavious seemed caring, but after a few days you could realize it's all an act and it is done only to get as much information about everyone as possible, which later was used against the person. We live in a dirty world, where you can't trust anyone, especially when it comes to business.

One of his favorite activity was spreading positive vibes, at least that's how he liked to call it, but in fact it was brainwashing people, or at least he was trying to. Basically he entered the office, asked everyone how we were, or how things were, then when problems were brought to his attention, his solution was always to shift your attention from the problem, instead of offering help to solve it. One of his favorite topic was the weather, when it was sunny, so whatever company problem you had, he said you should rather be happy, that the sun is shining. It was really frustrating as you could never get him to do his job and this affected your job as well.
This is even more damaging, when the brainwashing is done self consciously on your own self. There's no life without problems, no matter how rich or well connected you are, there are still problems in your life. Some have more, others less, and your happiness comes down to how you are able to solve your problems and how you perceive reality.

The author of the blog post I mentioned at the beginning of my post decided to ignore a very big problem and focus on some joyful things offered by life instead. If that problem was mine, I'd go crazy honestly, that's how serious it was and it's still concerning as it's going to have serious consequences in the upcoming future, but it can only be solved by those who the problem belongs to.
Positive thinking and focusing on things that makes you happy is important in life, and trying to shift focus from problems to something seemingly nicer seems like a good solution for some, it may even work for a minute or two, but ignoring the problem won't make it go away and it may even make it bigger in time.
Being frustrated is not a nice feeling and definitely not something you'd want for yourself, but sometimes if helps you hurry up, get things done and make your life easier and better.
Years ago I met someone who said "start your day with the problems, the things you hate more, this way the rest of your day will be like a holiday". No one wants problems and most of us, including me, sometimes choose to push these aside for a short time, but sooner or later you need to address them.

They say "no one can save you from yourself", which has become a cliche already, but it seems it's true.
I respect everyone's decision, especially when you're not implicated and it's none of your business, but still. What do you do when you see people are literally putting their life in danger by choosing to ignore the problem and not listening to anyone?
What do you do? Are you willing to give a try and speak to them? Tell them it's not good what they are doing? Do you know any such people?
