As humans, we are always advised not to judge a book by its cover. Because of the cover we are talking about, we cannot determine what is inside if we do not go close to the book to check the package and the content the book contains. Sometimes we do something that, after we have done it, we then decide what the outcome is because we didn't think it through. Life is generally a lesson even to those who think they have known it all. Because one thing that is very certain is that the more we grow, the more we get to learn things from different people and different things.
I have been able to mix with some kind of people in my life, and I have learned a lot from them. Directly and indirectly, because there are sometimes things that will happen, and you will be able to get some idea from people even when they do not tell you to do that thing directly. While I was growing up as a kid, I thought to myself that it would be of great interest to make sure that I learn from people even when I know what I want to learn because there are different approaches to life. Either you go through the straight way or you go through the other way; one thing that is very certain is that you will surely come to a conclusion, which is the result of what you have done.
Now, doing a flashback to not judging a book by its cover. I had the opportunity to play my musical instrument for a church where I often go, and once in a while, they organize a program that happens every first Thursday of the new month, but before the program starts, they observe a singing session that lasts for about 2 hours straight, and people will dance and appreciate God. One thing is that during this period, diverse people can come onto the stage where the musicians are and play if they can play or sing also. This will help those that are doing it so that they won't be tired.
At some point, a man came and said he wanted to play the keyboard, and the person playing left it for him so that he could also play a bit. But along the line, I discovered he cannot flow with the type of song being played because he is a pianist, and a pianist can't really play fast-tempo songs. At some point, I got tired and annoyed, but I couldn't talk because he was new, and I did not want to sound rude, so I had to just go with the flow until he left. After about some months, he came back for another program in the church, and he was announced as the leader of the choir. More like a choir patron, and before then he had done lots of things for the choir that I don't know of.
After the whole program yesterday, I was able to have a close conversation with him, and we spoke at length. Then I was thinking within myself that if I had behaved in an abrupt manner, he would not have given me an audience yesterday, and some things we discussed would not have happened. In the end, we do not know who is who until we see the content each person carries within them. Learn to treat people right because you don't know what tomorrow holds.
