Today we are in Hivesicians Community, created by my hivenian mentor Hive account@ilazramusic with a new initiative from Hive account@cronoslocks that is about putting a topic on the table and comment it with opinions and arguments. Y ahora si, comencemos con el “Tema de la semana”:

Now, let’s start with the “Week’s theme”

Con este tema no me voy a extender demasiado porque estoy muy clara que prefiero la música y hasta prefiero leer partituras que leer libros, artículos de información o literatura en general. No soy mucho de leer, en el colegio me adentre en el mundo de la literatura porque era una materia que debía pasar y si he encontrado cosas que me gustan como la fantasía o cuentos cortos. Los trabajos de investigación, escribir y leer no son lo mío, de esas tres lo mejor que se me da es escribir (y es nivel medio), así que de esta manera intentaré expresarme y contarles por qué prefiero a la música.

With this topic I’m not going to extend too much because I’m very clear that I prefer music. I even prefer to read sheet music than to read books, informative articles or literature in general. I do not love to read, in high school I joined the world of literature because it was a signature that I have to pass and I do find titles that I like to read like fantasy or short stories. Research, writing and reading are not my thing, about those three the one that I’m better at is writing (and is medium level). So I’m going to use this one and try to express myself and share with you why I prefer music.

He leído títulos como la saga de Harry Potter de J.K. Rowling que me fascina y soy mega fan tanto de los libros, como las películas y la música de John Williams; La saga de Crepúsculo de Stephenie Meyer, la trilogía de la ciudad de las Bestias de Isabel Allende y la saga de Los Juegos del Hambre de Suzanne Collins. De cuentos cortos leo y releo los cuentos de Edgar Allan Poe y los cuentos de Horacio Quiroga como principal escritor Latinoamericano. No son los únicos que he leído pero son los que más he disfrutado.

Lo gracioso de todo es que uno debe leer mucho para aprender, conocer y matar la curiosidad pero me cuesta sentarme a leer literatura. Leo libros de juegos de rol cuando tengo un tiempo pero siento que voy muy lento y termino saltando páginas para ir directo a lo que me interesa. También me gusta leer manga traducido al inglés pero puedo estar un día entero leyendo y la otra semana no, me cuesta mucho y me canso.

I had read titles like Harry Potter’s saga by J.K. Rowling that I love and I'm a super fan of both the books, movies and music of John Williams; Twilight’s saga by Stephanie Meyer, the trilogy of The City of the beast by Isabel Allende and Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. About short stories I love to read and read again Edgar Allan Poe and Horacio Quiroga as principal autor from latinoamérica. These are not the only literature I have read but are the ones that I enjoy the most.
The funny thing about it is that one must read a lot to learn, know and kill curiosity but it is difficult for me to sit down and read literature. I read rol manual games when I have time but I think that I go too slow and I end skipping pages to go right to the part that interests me. Also I like to read manga translated in english but I can read a full day and the other week don’t. It costs me a lot and I get tired.

Escuchar y hacer música es lo que más me gusta hacer, también influye mucho que soy una persona auditiva, es decir que puedo aprender mejor escuchando, incluso para leer suelo hacerlo en voz alta o moviendo la boca para escuchar mis palabras y entender los textos.

Leer partituras como los scores, que es donde están todas la voces, me hace comprender los recursos que se usaron para componer esta obra como la armonía, los motivos musicales, los movimientos de las voces y es divertido ir descubriendo todo esto mientras escuchas la obra al mismo tiempo.

Escuchar música no me permite concentrarme en otra cosa, hay música que puedo usar para que suene de fondo para estudiar por ejemplo pero generalmente si estoy escuchando algo le presto mucha atención y más bien me distrae de otras cosas. Cuando estoy en una reunión o una fiesta, si hay una canción que me gusta mucho me quedo como en otro mundo, la escucho o la tarareo y luego vuelvo perdida a la conversación.

Hear and play music is the thing that I love to do. It also influences a lot that I am an auditory person, it means that I can learn better hearing, even to read I usually do it out loud or move my mouth to listen to my words and understand the texts.
Reading music sheets like scores (where are all the instruments voices) makes me understand the resources that the composer uses to compose the musical piece like the harmony, musical motive, the movement of the voices and is very fun to discover all this while you are hearing the piece.
Listening to music does not allow me to concentrate on something else. There is music that I can use to play in the background to study for example but generally if I’m listening something I put all my attention and it distracts me from doing anything else. When I’m in a reunion or party, if there is a song that I really like, I stay like in another world, I listen to it or can sing it and then I come back to the conversation, lost.

La literatura es muy buena y el arte de escribir historias lo envidio pero me llama más la atención y me divierto mucho más escuchando música, también al ver vídeos musicales, series o películas con buena música, por eso me encanta ver anime y películas fantásticas o de superhéroes, la música siempre es salida de otro mundo, enérgica, a veces compleja y hermosa.

Literature is good and I envy the art of creating stories but I like it more and enjoy much more to listen to music, watch musical videos and series or movies with good music. It is why I love to watch anime and fantasy or superheroes movies, always the music is from another world, energetic, sometimes complex and beautiful.
