Welcome to our 17 March brawl report for , a Top 3 guild in Splinterlands. Check out our guild's most updated statistics:
Summary
For back-to-back weeks, Shield of Glory battled against perennial powerhouse and top-ranked guild , as well as Immortal Army,
, and two of the top three
guilds [CHAMPS] and [Vikings]. Again, SoG fell short of the top three, ending in 4th place, earning 33 Crowns and 1,856 Merits. We finished just a single win ahead of PM [CHAMPS], and four wins behind PM [Vikings]. Legendary Dragons pulled the upset, finishing on top of the group, two wins ahead of Immortal Gods.
Shield of Glory dominated most of the Gold Foil frays, as long-time brawler achieved the 7-0 sweep in the Wild Silver GF fray 15. Two more OG players battled to 5-1 records, with
in the Modern Silver GF fray 16 and
in the Modern Bronze GF fray 14.
also racked up 21 points with a 7-1 record in the Alpha/Beta Bronze fray 6, while
completes our top five brawlers with a 6-2 performance in the Silver Chaos Legion fray 9.
Battle Highlights
Let’s take a quick peek at some of the notable fray battles shared by our top brawlers.
First up is Gregory-F in the Alpha/Beta Bronze fray, with a big victory over Victor-Alexander of the 1st place Legendary Dragons. They both used the same splinter (earth), summoner (Rennyn) and gladiator (Quora), while only differing on one of their four monsters. However it was Gregory's placement of his regular Quora in position one that triumphed over his opponent's more conservative placement of GF Quora in position two. Bloodlust for the win!
Next to share is SteemIt, who battled in the Modern Bronze GF fray against GoldMonsters of Immortal Army. Their lineups varied wildly - SteemIt was victorious with the powerful Yodin leading the fire team over the Contessa death team. Even with the nerf on range attack, blast proved too powerful.
For our last highlighted battle, we feature against Immortal God's Schwarszchild in the Novice Chaos Legion fray. Both brawlers chose the same summoner (Sloan) and five similar monsters for the even and opportunity rule sets. The placement of those different monsters was key, as it allowed XsuilX to get his opponent's Time Mage off the board first, leading to an important speed advantage.
Brawl Preview
The brawl for 22 March should be easier than in weeks past, as Shield of Glory is the top-rated guild in our group, drawing , LVLUPLIFE / YGG,
Diamond and Immortal Gods to round out the top 5 guilds. The main reason for the slightly easier matchups is the news that 10 top guilds decided to take the plunge and advance to tier three brawls. Keep an eye out for my next article, where I will provide more details about the weekend discussion that led to this landmark decision to fill a single 10-team tier-three brawl.
Of course, you can check back with us in five days to see how we fare in our next brawl. The comment section is open for any questions or reactions to our report. Thank you for stopping by to learn about Shield of Glory.
