Hey Hive friends 𧥠I like to share with you a little story from my weekend that made me smile for days after. Itâs nothing too fancy, just one of those ordinary days that turn out to be unexpectedly special.
So, Sunday morning, my fiancĂ©, his sister and me â we got up early and hit the road to Zrenjanin. Itâs not too far from where we live, but still far enough to feel like a little trip. The main reason we went was to help his sister with some paperwork and things she had to finish with this lovely couple that she knows.
When we got there, we were greeted so kindly. This older couple, I think they were maybe around their late 50s or early 60s, welcomed us like we were part of the family. They made coffee for us, and we all sat in their cozy living room, chatting about life, work, and everything in between.
It reminded me how rare it is today to meet people who open their homes just like that, with warm smile and no stress. We talked about how different times were before, when people didnât need appointments to visit each other or drink a coffee together.
After we finished everything about work, on a very very hot summer day (I forgot to menton that) all three of us was heading down the street to the â Central Perk. YES, that Central Perk cafĂ©! Turns out, we had known about this place for a long time and had been wanting to go there because I love Friends so much. But somehow, we never found the time â until now. Since we were already in Zrenjanin, this was the perfect moment to finally make it happen. As soon as I saw the logo on the window, I was like a little kid. I couldnât stop smiling! I almost screamed from excitement đ Iâm a HUGE fan of Friends. Like, big big fan. I watched every season more times than I can count, I know all the lines (not kidding đ ), and sometimes when I canât sleep, I just play random episodes in the background like a lullaby.
As soon as I entered the cafĂ©, I felt like I stepped inside the show. The orange couch was there! The green armchairs! Even the brick walls and window with the Central Perk logo â just like in Monicaâs neighborhood. I was in full fangirl mode.
Itâs crazy how much detail they put into decorating it. There was also Monicaâs blue kitchen from the apartment, and the living room area that looked so close to the one from the show â old-school TV, vintage posters, the rug, the chairs... Even the big window with fake New York night view behind it! We took so many photos. I think I made my fiancĂ© take at least 15 of me pointing at different posters on the wall. I just love those retro French posters like âLe Chat Noirâ â it gave the whole space a kind of artsy, vintage touch.
Also, one part of the cafĂ© had quotes from the show written on the wall â of course âSmelly Catâ was there đč We stayed there for about an hour, talking about the episode when Joey gets a turkey stuck on his head, or when Ross yells âPIVOT!â (of course we said it like five times out loud đ).
Thanks for reading my rambles. Let me know if youâve ever been to a themed cafĂ©, or if you also have a TV show that feels like home. Would love to hear your stories đŹ
