Another daily blog from me, just for your eyes, from mine, literally. ;)
Why I say that? Well.. because I got (actually bought) my new eyeglasses! So now I again have that silly nerd face, or when I'm realy serious -> strict history teacher look. 👩🏼🏫
Anyway, I used to wear these glasses before… I mean, when I say "used to" that means from time to time, like when I watch movie with tiny subtitles on TV or when I'm chasing a mosquito at 3 in the morning and cannpt catch that little beast.
My diopter is actually -0.75, which doesn't realy require wearing glasses for distance, but if it bothers you, it is better to have them. I bought mine a few years ago and used them here and there, mostly they were collecting dust in a drawer.
Last year I got my driver’s license (yaaay for that) and as a total beginner and already half panicking behind the wheel, it really started to bother me that I can't see clearly far away, especially at night. Lights are all double and blurry so I'm not relaxed and that is why I started wearing them a bit more often.
And guess what, I lost them. Xd
Yes. Likee five months ago. I looked everywhere, and nothing. Gone. Since then, every time I had to practice night driving, I found nyself a perfect excuse:
"A-a, I can't, I don't see well far away, need to get glalsses first and then I will." 😏
Everyone around me got so sick of that excuse that they literally forced me to go to the optician for the new ones.
Here are two photos from there, my fiancé took them during diopter measuring. I look so funny, right? You can see from my body posture that I am just one big anxious child.
The optician lady was super nice, lovely woman. She told me my diopter is the same (-0,75), nothing worse since last time, which is great. Then we went to choose frames.
Frames are sooo expensive... Some crazy prices like 40.000 dinars and up (that is like around 350 dolars) Honestly, too much! I picked something way cheaper, of course. There were a few nice ones to choose from, not many though.
While I was still trying them, she gived me one pair and says: Try these Gucci ones, they are cute." And I was like:
"HAHA, sister, exuse me, but I'm so not that kind of person." First, I'm not a slave to brands and second, I lost the previous ones, why would I pay that much for something I'll probably lose again? xD Nonsense. Later I even heard that some teachers from school buy a few expensive pairs every year to match their outfits! Like… why? But okay, we won't judge.
I decided for simple black, a bit bigger frame, so the arms couldn't press my head too much. I am realy problematic when it comes to those things anyway, if glasses are just a bit tight, they hurt me, necklaces choke me like they weigh 20 kilos and winter hats? - no way, they also squeeze my head like the worst enemies.
So I picked these ones and I think they suit me well. Only thing, they're plastic and new and they slide down my nose a bit. I'll have to go in a few days to fix that. Now I am curious how they will do it. If it is metal, I guess they would just bend it easily, but with plastic, hmm, what do they do? Probably heat them up somehow, then slowly adjust... I definitely wouldn't dare do that at home, even though hair dryer already crossed my mind a few times as an a good idea. :)
I think we made a good choice overall.
To be honest with you, I will probably wear them only when driving (and maybe not even always) or when watching a foreign movie or chasing a mosquito, l.o.g.i.c.a.l.l.y.
How’s your vision? You have some diopter too? Plus, minus, plus and minus? Do you wear glasses or lenses? And do you lose them like I do?
