An ideal winter vacation is all about feeling cozy. Lucky for me this winter break has turned into one full of everything I was searching for: warm wool socks, cold-season fruits, and a great book to read on a comfy couch.
Yesterday we took a trip to visit the town where I grew up. It is a rural landscape where most houses come with a yard, or even an orchard! This was the case at the home of family friends.
They have tended to fruit trees for years and during winter have harvested pounds of lemons and persimmons and even shared a few with me.
Most of the fruits I will try to eat fresh each morning. The rest I am sticking into the oven on low to dehydrate for a citrus-herb tea mix.
Then, there was a very welcome gift ~ a few buds from their most recent harvest. Months ago I actually gifted this family the plants that produced these buds so, it is kinda a full circle moment here.
I will enjoy these flowers while potting around the garden at my parents place.
