I’ve always admired people with beautifully stacked ears, and finally, I decided it was my turn.
Walking into the Mall, I felt a mix of excitement and nerves. Would it hurt? Would I regret it? Would it even suit me? The piercer was calm, professional, and reassuring, which helped settle my nerves. After cleaning the area and marking the spot, they asked if I was ready and honestly, I wasn’t completely sure, but I nodded anyway.
The piercing itself was surprisingly quick. A sharp pinch, a brief warm sensation, and just like that, it was over. No dramatic pain, no tears just a rush of adrenaline and relief. When I looked in the mirror, I couldn’t help but smile. It was subtle, delicate, and exactly what I hoped for. Sometimes the smallest changes really do make the biggest difference in how we see ourselves.
What surprised me most wasn’t the pain it was the confidence boost. There’s something powerful about choosing to change your appearance in a way that feels true to who you are. It felt like I stepped slightly outside my comfort zone and came back stronger, bolder, and more myself.
Of course, aftercare matters. I’ve been cleaning it twice a day, avoiding unnecessary touching, and resisting the urge to change the jewelry too soon. Healing takes patience, but I’m committed to doing it right because this piercing already means more to me than I expected.
Now I catch myself thinking about future piercings maybe a helix, maybe a second lobe who knows? This first one opened the door to a new kind of self-expression, and I’m excited to explore it. It’s funny how something so small can make you feel so seen, so confident, so… you.
Have you ever gotten a piercing that changed how you felt about yourself? Or are you still waiting for the right moment to finally go for it?
By the way, Big thanks to my friend who made this piercing possible.
So, what’s stopping you from getting that piercing you’ve been thinking about?
