A few weeks ago, me and my sister Ada joined a fun run marathon in Cebu City. It was our first time joining this kind of event together, so we were both excited and a little nervous. We woke up early that day, prepared our things, and headed to the starting area while it was still cool and calm. Seeing many people already gathered made the whole experience feel more exciting.
The place was full of energy. There were runners of all ages, some alone, some with friends, and some with family members. Everyone was wearing their running shirts and bib numbers. You could hear people talking, laughing, stretching, and getting ready. The atmosphere felt positive and encouraging. It was nice to see so many people coming together for a healthy activity.
When the run started, we began at a comfortable pace. Me and my sister stayed close to each other, helping and motivating one another. The route went around Cebu City, and even though it was early, you could already see the city slowly waking up. There were trees, buildings, and open roads along the way. Volunteers were also there, cheering and guiding the runners. Their support helped a lot, especially when we started to feel tired.
The run lasted for about two hours. It was tiring, especially as time passed, but we kept going. There were moments when our legs felt heavy and our breathing became faster. Still, we reminded each other to slow down when needed and just enjoy the moment. It was not about finishing fast. It was about finishing together.
As we continued running, I realized how good it felt to move my body and challenge myself. Even though it was tiring, it felt rewarding. Running made me feel strong and proud. My sister felt the same way. We shared smiles, short talks, and quiet moments while focusing on the road ahead.
Finally, we reached the finish line. Seeing it made us feel happy and relieved. We slowed down, crossed the line together, and felt a sense of achievement. After finishing, we received our medals. The medal was a simple token or souvenir, but it meant a lot to us. It reminded us of the effort we gave and the experience we shared.
We took pictures with our medals and smiled proudly. Around us, other runners were also celebrating, resting, and talking about their run. Some were tired, some were excited, but everyone looked satisfied. It felt good to be part of a healthy and positive event.
This run marathon was a fun experience for both of us. It was tiring, but it was also good for our health. It showed us that exercise can be enjoyable, especially when you do it with someone you care about. It was a healthy competition, not against others, but against ourselves.
I am glad that me and my sister joined this run. It gave us a memory to remember and a reason to stay active. Hopefully, we can join more runs like this in the future. Running together in Cebu City was simple, meaningful, and worth every step.
