And just like that it has been seven whole days since I have posted! I can't believe it!
Actually, I can. My dogs are dog tired. By that, I mean my feet and my Corg. She went and stayed down at the neighbors and from what I understand she went through the equivalent of Basic Training, while I hiked the entire Las Vegas strip and in Zion National Park.
Yep, the last week was pretty lit!
In total we drove over 2500 miles and visited Southern Idaho, Montana, Utah, Arizona, and Nevada. The kids both competed in the Western Regionals Skeet and Trap Championships in Vegas, we explored a park where they did The Big Dig in 1962-1963 (paleontology and archeology), we visited some very dear friends, wandered the Strip at night, meandered up the mountainside in Zion, learned that lines are a thing in Zion, and visited an absolutely amazing prison and car museum in Montana.
Oh yes, and the food, wait til I talk about the food!
So, yes, adventures were had, sights were seen, and we all are in possession of very tired but well-traveled carcasses.
In fact, our days began at just after five every morning and didn't stop until at least nine in the evening. I haven't been this tired since I my kids were toddlers. Then again, since brother and sister were reunited after three months, it was kinda like having toddlers in the back seat, much squabbling I tell ya!
Both the hubs and I drove, and I have to say, I found a vehicle that I enjoy much greatly! We reserved a SUV for the trip, as we had to haul a ton of gear, and the 2023 Ford Explorer that we got was such a nice vehicle. We felt like spoiled 1%ers with things like heated seats, a heated steering wheel, and all sorts of spaceship-like gadgetry. Plus, that vehicle just handled nice and got pretty decent highway gas mileage for the size of the beast.
As it snowed on us quite a bit coming home, I am finding myself missing all that heated seatery and such, but then again, I am pretty tickled to be back in my humble abode. The Corg and the cats haven't left us alone since we walked through the door, and as I have mostly finished getting everything put away, my mind has been aflutter with all the posts I get to share with you all!
That and I gotta get busy starting plants over the next couple days. Thanks to the spring break trip I am slightly behind!
But all in all, my soul is elated, as we got to see and experience so many cool things. Travel really is good for one's vibe.
And as most of the time, all of the images in this post were taken on the author's still vibrating from rumbling along in the dash cubby of the SUB for the last couple thousand miles iPhone.
