You know when the highlight of your trip is the place you sleep?
Usually that only happens to me when such place is the main focus, but on Friday my family came all the way to Imbituba, SC, Brazil near the popular beach spot of Garopaba for a family party, and God...
It was a borefest.
Everyone is an adult now, everyone has kids, except for me and my cousins, so we had to just bare it all.
Of course there was good food, my dad is the greatest at making some Gaúcho style churrasco.
But argh, we were 2 hours in and me and my cousins decided to head back to the inn. There's good reason though, just check how comfy this place is
Living room that looks fantastic during the early morning (just ignore whatever my brother was watching).
The inn's pet dog, Mel. She's a cutie. Really calm, always wanting to be pet.
The room I slept in, really nice, fits tons of people but I'm writing this on it alone right now, so much better than with... Yuck, people around. (Jk)
The living room, near my room's door also has a map of the Island of Santa Catarina which is... Nowhere near here. But it was probably put up for tourists. I do spend my summers very very near that island and landing on it all the time though.
And why am I not a tourist? Well, I've got like 8-10 people from my family living nearby, only reason we had to stay at an inn is because their houses filled up... And I prefer it this way. Everyone would be too drunk after the party anyway. I got some nice sleep.
The dining room and the kitchen are pretty much glued together, nothing to complain here. It's a nice spot to have a good breakfast and cook a quick meal.
btw I'm really hungry.
There was also this ancient piece of tech here that I remember using in another life (12+ years ago).
It's interesting they'd keep it here as this is indeed an old inn. Must've been modern to have a nice CD player at the time.
A litle bit more of the maps.
And the War game my cousin won, since his objective was just taking South America. Did it all on the down low, I was focusing way too hard on keeping Asia and taking Europe. Damn it.
And to top it all off...
Here's a church near us. It's nice, it's pretty. I've seen it a thousand times since my childhood but I haven't been here since 2010. They renovated it, it looks way better now.
This is the last day of our short 3 day trip here and it's nice to finally get out of my home for a while. Out of my comfort zone so to say.
Staying stuck in your room does terrible things for your mental health and when coming here I was expecting the worse, dunno what exactly but just sadness... now I'm kinda happy!
I think this was good for me. I miss my hometown but soon enough we'll be there, for now, I'll do my best to enjoy this place :)
