Good day, people around this blockchain! It feels great to be back after not posting for a while. I apologize for my absence since I have been dealing with a hectic schedule lately. With the ongoing hell week, I have been working all night since I want to finish this semester. Just finally found a moment to relax and write, although there's no other time to do it. But since I want to avoid having too much pressure, having a break is a must.
As a leader of three different groups, I aim to present our output as presentable as possible. It is one of the reasons why I was not visible in Hive since I aim to focus on my studies. I want to maintain the high grades that I got during our midterm this semester, although I was a bit pressured. My grades during our midterm ranged from 94-99, and I'm not bragging that I earned them after being strict with my schedule. Aside from being passionate about my studies, I want to enhance my leadership and social skills. It is not related to our topic, but just a bit disclaimer.
Remember the school contents that I used to upload in this community a few months ago? Although I have paused writing blogs about my academic workload, I am delighted to share that my efforts and sacrifices have paid off. Reminisce when I missed many celebrations with my relatives, quit my side hustles temporarily, and even got glow down because of stress? And now, I have achieved this certificate that defines my intelligence, hard work, and diligence.
Yesterday, we attended the CAS Turnover Ceremony held at Sto. Nino. The CAS department organized the event to welcome us, the first-year students, and introduce us to our respective departments. All first-year students were present, and each dean of every department greeted us in our respective departments. To reach the location, we hired a tricycle driver, and the fare varied based on the number of students in the tricycle.
However, the seating arrangement in the gymnasium we attended was not well-organized. It was also difficult to see the AVP that each department presented due to the use of a projector instead of a television. It would have been better if they had rented a television to ensure better visibility. That's just my two cents. We all got a chance to grab a seat and watched the AVP, although it was not visible.
At first, I felt disappointed when I thought my classmates and I would not be awarded on stage as Dean's Listers. I had high expectations, fueled by the stories I saw on our school's Facebook page, where students were awarded medals. Expecting too many hurts, you know. I remember telling my mom I would buy them Chicken Star if I received a medal. Even though I did not receive a medal, I still celebrated and treated them a chicken because making it to the Dean's List was still a success. Later, just learned that the Top 10 will be awarded, and our GPAs are almost too close. Manifesting that I could get into the Top 10 too.
My friend and I felt disappointed with how the CAS Turnover Ceremony went. However, here is a twist. After the final part of the ceremony, our respective advisers gave us a token of appreciation. I thought I had received only one certificate and a piece of a notebook, and a pen. But I was overjoyed to learn that I also received a Dean's List certificate! It reminded me of a thought I had during my first semester: sometimes, we must sacrifice to achieve something great. While making sacrifices can be challenging, seeing the fruits of our labor is worth it. Our happiness knows no bounds when we see our efforts paid off.
While waiting for the group picture, I sent these shots to my mother. Sorry if I'm not that handsome, lol. After sending it, she immediately sent it to our group chat in Messenger.
We also took shots with my classmates too. I am an introvert, but there have been some moments when I dare to socialize. Just look how we're happy in these pictures. This is the ceremony that I will never forget! Enjoy scrolling.
After that, my classmate invited us to Jollibee to try their Mix-and-Match. I ordered two Coke floats (I was not satisfied with one) and then this Burger Steak. It was a fulfilling day before I got to a real battle again. I will just push this week since the first week of May will be our vacation. I'm tired, but I won't stop to fulfill my dreams! Thank you!
