Last Sunday, we celebrated my uncle’s 33rd birthday. Celebrating a relative’s birthday is something that we don’t miss every year. Despite the abnormal price hikes happening around our country, we were still able to go. Without further ado, let’s get started.
Pre-preparation
As usual, my uncle ordered puto, kutsinta, and suman from my mom. It’s a big help for our monthly expenses, especially since basic necessities are increasing. I don’t know why the government still imposes a 12% VAT and excise tax on petroleum products despite the continuous price increases. It feels like they’re not thinking properly and are only focusing on their own interests. Anyway, I helped my mom by wiping banana leaves since she used them to wrap the glutinous rice for the suman. I did that chore while watching the new episode of Girl From Nowhere: The Reset.
Foods
For the food prepared, it still remained the same. They served macaroni soup, chicken adobo, and pancit. Their macaroni soup wasn’t that good since it barely had soup. Meanwhile, the other dishes were good enough for their taste. The celebration was supposed to be simple, and my aunt had already planned to celebrate it with only two families. However, they still managed to invite other relatives even if it was meant to be simple. The additional desserts were made by my mom.
Picture Taking
Of course, the day wouldn’t be complete without taking pictures. We also made a video greeting for my uncle, who will be coming here to the Philippines for my graduation. I didn’t want to wish him good health since he drinks a lot and loves going to the casino. I just wished him more birthdays to come. While I was on the terrace, my aunt also shared that she plans to be more active as an affiliate. However, she doesn’t have as much time as I do.
That’s all for this blog. Bye!
