Hi, Daily Blog community! Sharing with you a blog about what just happened yesterday. It was the first time I attended a town fiesta after 3 years of living here. My husband and I had no idea about the little town’s festivities. My son received a ticket for the children’s carousel or manège (in French) from school.
We call it a “family park” after we visited an amusement park in Spain. We visited Spain in September/October 2020, 2021, and 2022 to experience the hot or summer weather before the autumn season arrives in France.
My husband had a job but he prepared the bike and attached the trailer. The kids were so excited that after lunch they wanted to go to the fiesta. The planned time was 5 PM, good thing they had a little nap at 4 PM. I was busy doing the house chores before going out.
I arrived in this area with my bike while people were looking at me. I realized this was the runway of the runners joining the race. LOL
I need to park our bike and I have 3 lockers with me for security. The kids were impatient inside the trailer as I secured the bike. As my husband said, I’ll let them go off the trailer once I have locked everything.
We checked to see what was going around. It wasn't a big amusement park, just enough for the small town. We saw 4 or 5 big trucks loaded with the manège, toys, and games.
Obviously, the carousel is their favorite. How many times did they take the carousel ride? Maybe 5-6. Then, Alexandre won something to have one free ride so I only needed to pay for Elise. That was 3 Euros per ride.
Catching ducks was funny. Elise didn't know how to catch ducks but she learned eventually. Alexandre called this game the "duck fishing." LOL
We found this expensive, 5 Euros for a few minutes but they got some toys after.
After spending money, we went to see the field. Alexandre met his friends running around the field. Elise got jealous but she was very shy to approach other kids.
Just a few meters away was the kid's park. She can play alone but I needed to give her attention. At the same time, I have to set my eyes on Alexandre.
She went to the toboggan or the slides.
To make her feel better, I asked her if she wanted to eat. I gave her a madeleine or a little cake. I also let her drink water. Then, I remembered I had some toys with us so I let her play with them.
In the background, you can see the Frenchies playing the traditional French game called, Pétanque. I haven't played one.
Pétanque is a famous and popular outdoor French game that’s played in almost every French city garden and park at almost any time of day.

I called Alexandre because he was crazy playing with the other kids on the field I couldn't see him. I want him to play in the park so that it would be easy for me to look after him.
Elise was happy to see Alexandre. Alexandre joined us at the table. Then, my iPad mini died on me. No more battery.
I asked Alexandre if he was interested to see the church. We were not able to attend the mass because the kids were so excited to play around. As much as I wanted to hear the mass in French, unfortunately, I missed it. Still, I promised the kids to see the church.
We spent 2 hours in the fiesta. Glad to know that Alexandre changed his mind and we went to see the church. We were late but I met a few familiar faces while people were leaving the church. We saw Monique who stayed a few minutes in the church. She was happy to see us and invited Alexandre to get inside.
Elise was hesitant to get inside but another woman accompanied us inside the church and calmed down Elise. She spoke a little English so that was a relief. It was very nice of her to let Elise relax in the church.

We spent one hour inside the church and I explained to Alexandre about Jesus Christ and the Priest reading the Bible and telling us a story about Him. If we go inside the church, we need to listen to the priest's sermon. And Elise was fascinated to see the flowers.
Finally, we had to say goodbye to Jesus Christ and the church, and everybody needed to go home.
We arrived home and papa was preparing for dinner. Miam miam!
