Yesterday, I woke up with a red sore eye on the left. It is not the usual sore eyes. I think this is a side effect of the flu. My energy was deficient so I decided to do nothing.
The other night, I got to draw some flowers on the whiteboard so the kids enjoyed my drawings that they requested I should draw more.
I decided to draw another flower on the whiteboard when I woke up. I was looking for a drawing tutorial on YouTube to copy. Alexandre colored the rose on the whiteboard with pink and green colored pens. Then I started to draw on paper.
I drew five flowers as Alexandre kept on asking to let me draw more flowers. They were both satisfied with the flowers and they showed it to their father.
I took photos of the drawn flowers because I felt so happy. Alexandre and Elise asked if they could have photos of my flowers. Alexandre started to be funny in front of the camera, thus, the rigolo face in French.
I added a new flower to the paper. I'm thinking of keeping this drawing. Maybe I can do a cutout on the four flower drawings.
Here's a video tutorial on YouTube
Since I am into journaling these days, the paper cutout can help to decorate my notebook. I prefer to draw than to buy some washi tapes and other stickers. I loved to draw and color since childhood but my artistic side was never developed. I was a frustrated artist and still I am today. Now that I have kids, I have the excuse to do arts with them.
Drawing flowers made me feel okay
After this little activity with my kids, I felt happy but my energy was still low. There were so many clothes I needed to fold and decided not to do it yesterday. I just let it be.
But the most essential thing I need to do is to do the dishes. At least do this once a day. I felt anxiety when I saw loads of dirty dishes in the sink.
I didn't do the laundry but my husband did. I just told him I wasn't feeling okay. My red sore eye made me want to sleep.
The toys are everywhere
This is the usual scene every day, there are many toys on the floor. But yesterday, it felt so dragging and tiring to pick up the toys.
Sick day on my journal
I updated my journal and wrote on the day as SICK DAY. I need to sleep early. After my shower, I took my journal to read and fill in some events of the day. I turned off my laptop and charged all my gadgets.
Now I know what to do. If I am on a sick day, I'll just take a piece of paper, a pencil, and colored pens and teach my kids how to draw.
So, how do you deal with your day when you are sick?
