On a bright and serene evening, we set out as a team for evangelism, united by a common purpose, to share the good news of Jesus Christ and extend His love to the people of our community. The outreach took place at a local health facility within the Lafia Local Government Area. It was not just an ordinary event, but one filled with passion, joy, and the undeniable presence of the Holy Spirit.
Our gathering point was at the gate of the Primary Health Care Centre in Lafia East. From there, we moved into the surrounding areas, house by house and person by person, sharing tracts, praying for people, and offering words of encouragement. Everyone was actively involved, both those new to the outreach and those experienced in the work of soul winning. It was encouraging to see young people committed to such a divine assignment with smiles on their faces and Bibles in their hands.
Each team member played a unique role, whether it was preaching, praying, or simply walking alongside someone to lend support. We ministered to shop owners, passersby, children, and even the elderly. Many were open and receptive to the gospel message. Some opened up about their struggles, while others were deeply touched that someone cared enough to visit and share the message of salvation.
One particular highlight was when a man who had been battling depression shared his testimony after our prayers. He expressed his gratitude and told us that the words spoken to him felt like God had sent us directly to him. It was a moment that reminded us that evangelism is not just about speaking but also about listening, caring, and offering hope to those in need.
Beyond the spiritual impact, the outreach strengthened our bond as a team. Walking together, praying together, and laughing together created a sense of unity and purpose. It was a time of personal growth for many, especially those who had never participated in such an activity before. They returned with a renewed zeal for evangelism and a deeper understanding of the Great Commission.
As we concluded the day, we gathered briefly to thank God for the souls we had encountered and the lives we had impacted. We took a group photo to capture the moment, not as a show of accomplishment but as a reminder of the harvest field we are called to labor in continually. It was a fulfilling and humbling experience.
Evangelism is a powerful tool for changing lives, both for those who receive the message and those who share it. It is a practical demonstration of the love of Christ, and through it, we become vessels of grace and hope in a world that desperately needs it. Our hearts were full as we departed, knowing that seeds had been planted and that God, in His time, would bring the increase.
We look forward to more outreach programs like this, trusting God for greater harvests and deeper spiritual growth. Evangelism is not a one-time event; it is a lifestyle, and with every opportunity, we will continue to shine the light of Christ in dark places.
