For this meeting, we planned to go to dinner at a restaurant in Puerto Madero, one of the most elegant areas of Buenos Aires. I admit that before our meeting I was a little nervous because my English is terrible, but I did my best and I think we managed to understand each other somewhat. The restaurant was casual, so we ate a little bit of everything, and of course, we couldn't miss our classic Argentine asado. In its basic version, this dish includes a cut of short ribs, a cut of flank steak, some chicken, chorizo, blood sausage, and chitterlings, accompanied by a salad—in this case, Russian salad (potato, egg, carrot, peas, and mayonnaise).
Para esta reunión planeamos ir a cenar a un restaurante en Puerto Madero, una de las zonas más elegantes de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires. Admito que antes de nuestra reunión estaba un poco nerviosa, porque mi conversación en inglés es terrible, pero hice mi mejor esfuerzo y creo que un poco nos entendimos. El restaurante era de estilo libre así que comimos de todo un poco, y por supuesto no podía faltar nuestro clásico asado argentino. En su versión básica, este plato incluye un corte de asado, uno de vacío, un poco de pollo, chorizo, morcilla y chinchulines, acompañado por alguna ensalada, en este caso ensalada rusa (papa, huevo, zanahoria, arvejas y mayonesa).
The classic dinner time in Argentina is between 9 and 11 PM, which might seem a bit late to some. But we confirmed this at the restaurant, where many people were just arriving for lunch. I had never been to this place before, but I enjoyed experiencing the touristy side of the city with good company like LUT and her husband. At times, I couldn't believe that Hive and travel had brought us together in real life 😃.
La hora clásica para la cena en Argentina es entre las 9 y las 11 PM, algo que puede resultar un poco tarde para algunos. Pero esto lo comprobamos en el restaurante, cuando mucha gente recién estaba llegando a comer a esa hora. Yo nunca había ido a este lugar, pero me gustó vivir la parte turística de la ciudad con buena compañía como LUT y su esposo. Por momentos no podía creer que Hive y los viajes nos hubiesen juntado en la vida real 😃.
They were so kind to me, bringing me gifts from the other side of the world. Who doesn't love gifts? I was thrilled with the chocolates because I adore them, as well as the tea and cookies. They also brought me some more Hive items that I love: a new red bag, a notebook, an umbrella, and more stickers. I've collected so many Hive items over the years, but it's never enough. Ellos tuvieron un lindo gesto conmigo y fue traerme unos regalos del otro lado del mundo. ¿A quién no le gustan los regalos? Yo quedé encantada con los chocolates porque los amo, además del té y unas galletitas. También me trajeron un poco más de artículos de Hive que me encantan: una nueva bolsa roja, una libreta, un paraguas y más stickers. En todo este tiempo he recolectado muchos artículos de Hive, pero nunca son suficientes. Gracias ❤️.
Since I don't live in downtown Buenos Aires, I had booked a hostel room that night so I could spend the evening there and be more comfortable. This meant we could meet again the next day for breakfast and continue chatting. I also wanted to give them a gift of some typical local products (I did what I could on a Sunday morning, you know, almost everything was closed), but luckily I managed to get the most important things: alfajores and dulce de leche, plus a Game of Thrones bag, which isn't from Argentina but was perfect for holding the gift .
Como yo no vivo en el centro de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, esa noche había reservado una habitación en un hostel para poder pasar la noche ahí y estar más cómoda. Eso hizo que al día siguiente pudieramos reunimos de nuevo para desayunar y seguir conversando un poco más. También quise hacerles un regalo con algunos productos típicos de acá (hice lo que pude un domingo a la mañana, saben, casi todo estaba cerrado), pero por suerte consegui lo más importante: alfajores y dulce de leche, además de una bolsa de Games of Thrones, que no es de Argentina pero vino bien para guardar el regalo.
