Although the province of San Juan in Argentina does not have as much tourist diffusion as others in the country, I think that in any case they are responsible for receiving visitors who pass through this area very well. Since I have been here with the opportunity to explore this city, I have found a lot of activities and things to do, many of which are very interesting. In addition to going to visit the mountains, one of the things I am doing is getting to know the city and its proposals, and one of them is the guided tour service to get to know the surroundings. But the one we chose was not just any guided tour, but one that was done on an electric skateboard ❤️.
A pesar de que la provincia de San Juan en Argentina no tiene tanta difusión turística como otras del país, creo que de todos modos ellos se encargan de recibir muy bien a los visitantes que pasan por esta zona. Desde que estoy acá con la oportunidad de recorrer esta ciudad, encontré un montón de actividades y cosas para hacer, muchas de las cuales resultan muy interesantes. Además de ir a visitar las montañas, una de las cosas que estoy haciendo es interiozarme con la ciudad y sus propuestas, y una de ellas es el servicio de visitas guiadas para conocer los alrededores. Pero la que elegimos no era cualquier visita guiada, sino una que se realizaba en monopatín eléctrico ❤️.
The government of the city of San Juan offers several guided tours to see the shopping center, historical buildings, churches and even cemeteries. All these visits are free, with a guide who accompanies you and provides all the important information in a short tour of approximately one hour. That these visits are available seems great to me to know a little more about the history of how this place was founded. One of those visits in which they take you to tour the center had the option of doing it on foot, by bicycle and on an electric skateboard. I had never been on an electric scooter so this last option caught my attention 😃.
El gobierno de la ciudad de San Juan ofrece varias visitas guiadas para poder conocer el centro comercial, los edificios históricos, iglesias e incluso cementerios. Todas estas visitas son gratuitas, con un guía que te acompaña y brinda toda la información importante en un pequeño recorrido de aproximadamente una hora. Que esten disponibles estas visitas me parece genial como para saber un poco más la historia de como se fundó este lugar. Una de esas visitas en las cuales te llevan a recorrer el centro tenía la opción de realizarla caminando, en bicicleta y en monopatín eléctrico. Yo nunca me había subido a un monopatín eléctrico así que me llamó mucho la atención esta última opción 😃.
After testing the controls of the skateboard a bit, we began our journey around the mall. It was very hot that day in the city, but there was no way we canceled the visit. The guide was very attentive to this and made us park in the shade so he could give us explanations about the places. This entire city of San Juan is quite modern and new since an earthquake in the 1940s forced everything to be rebuilt after almost total destruction. Currently this area of our country has regular seismic activity, but luckily none as strong as that of that time. Of course the city is aware of this so now all new constructions have earthquake-resistant technology 😃.
Después de probar un poco los controles del monopatín, emprendimos nuestro viaje a los alrededores del centro comercial. Ese día hacía muchísimo calor en la ciudad, pero de ninguna forma cancelamos la visita. El guía fue muy atento a esto y hacía que nos estacionaramos en la sombra para poder darnos las explicaciones sobre los lugares. Toda esta ciudad de San Juan es bastante moderna y nueva ya que un terremoto en la década del 40 obligó a tener que reconstruir todo después de la destrucción casi total. Actualmente esta zona de nuestro país cuenta con actividad sísmica regular, pero por suerte con ninguna tan fuerte como la de ese entonces. Por supuesto que la ciudad es consciente de esto así que ahora todas las nuevas construcciones cuentan con tecnología de sismoresistencia 😃.
The guided tour also included a tour of the beautiful Parque de Mayo, which represents the largest green space in the area. After telling us how this park was remodeled and recovered after the earthquake, the guide left us some free time so that we could explore it at our leisure with the skateboards. My hostel mates and I felt like children playing with these vehicles: we raced, we went almost all the way around the park and we just had a lot of fun. Luckily, the park has a large number of trees that keep the space cool, so this part was the most enjoyed despite the heat ❤️.
La visita guiada también incluyó un recorrido por el hermoso Parque de Mayo, el cual representa el espacio verde más grande de la zona. Después de contarnos cómo este parque fue siendo remodelado y recuperado tras el terremoto, el guía nos dejó un tiempo libre para que podamos recorrerlo a nuestro gusto con los monopatines. Mis compañeros del hostel y yo nos sentimos como niños jugando con estos vehículos: hicimos carreras, dimos casi toda la vuelta al parque y nls divertimos bastante. Por suerte, el parque cuenta con una gran cantidad de árboles que mantienen fresco el espacio, por lo que esta parte fue la que más se disfrutó a pesar del calor ❤️.
I really liked this guided tour option and one of the best things was that it was totally free, so if your travel budget is a little limited, you can still do something fun. My colleagues also had fun with this and of course now this activity is on the list of my recommendations for travelers who come to the hostel where I work. Me gustó mucho esta opción de visita guiada y una de las mejores cosas fue que era totalmente gratis, por lo que si tu presupuesto de viaje está un poco acotado, podes hacer algo divertido igual. Mis compañeros también se divirtieron con esto y por supuesto ahora esta actividad está en la lista de mis recomendaciones para los viajeron que llegan al hostel en donde trabajo.
