Twenty days of travel passed quickly because of all the fun we were having on a daily basis. Before starting this trip I had my doubts about whether three weeks of travel would be a lot of time to spend with 13 other strangers, but I could even say that I could have gone on a little longer. This time was enough for us to get to know some of the most important cities of our southern Argentina in winter, while having fun with new friends. Even the return trip was not so terrible, because even though we were in places that were not so touristy, we ourselves were still having a good time ❤️.
Veinte días de viaje pasaron rápidamente debido a toda la diversión que estuvimos teniendo a diario. Antes de empezar este paseo tenía mis dudas sobre si tres semanas de viaje serían un montón de tiempo para pasarlo con otros 13 desconocidos, pero hasta podría decir que podría haber seguido un poco más. Este tiempo fue suficiente para que podamos conocer algunas de las ciudades más importantes de nuestro sur argentino en invierno, al mismo tiempo que nos divertimos con nuevos amigos. Incluso la vuelta no fue tan terrible, porque aunque estuviéramos en lugares no tan turísticos, nosotros mismos nos encargábamos de seguir pasándola bien ❤️.
The last tourist stop on our itinerary was in the town of El Bolsón, in the province of Río Negro. There we spent our last four nights, visiting the snow-capped mountains and the surroundings of this charming place. Most of the places we visited with the motorhome I already knew, but I enjoyed going to see them again with this tour. After we had driven more than 1800 km away from our starting point, it was time to return, stopping first in Bariloche and then continuing on to the province of La Pampa 😃.
La última parada turística de nuestro itinerario fue en el pueblo de El Bolsón, en la provincia de Río Negro. Ahí pasamos nuestras últimas cuatro noches, visitando las montañas nevadas y los alrededores de ese encantador lugar. La mayoría de los lugares que recorrimos con el motorhome yo ya los conocía, pero me gustó ir a verlos de nuevo con este paseo. Después de habernos alejado más de 1800 km de nuestro punto de partida, fue tiempo de regresar, haciendo una parada primero en Bariloche y luego continuando hasta la provincia de La Pampa 😃.
My country Argentina is so huge that you can drive for hours and hours and still be in the same province. The distances between each place are very long, and most of the roads are in the middle of huge fields until you finally find a small settlement. So it was for us when, after our driver had driven about 700 km that day, we arrived at a town I had never heard of, called Barda del Medio, in the province of La Pampa, bordering Córdoba, our last destination 😃.
Mi país Argentina es tan enorme que podés estar manejando por horas y horas y seguir estando en la misma provincia. Las distancias entre cada lugar son muy largas, y la mayoría de las rutas están en el medio de enormes campos hasta que finalmente encontrás un pequeño asentamiento. Así fue para nosotros cuando después de que nuestro chofer manejó unos 700 km ese día, llegamos a un pueblo del que yo ni había escuchado nombrar, llamado Barda del Medio, en la provincia de La Pampa, limítrofe a Córdoba, nuestro último destino 😃.
This inland town was really very quiet and perhaps there wasn't that much to see or do, but we found a nice free campsite by a river. We arrived a bit late, so we just happened to catch the sunset. At this point in the trip there would be no time to stop at hostels, so our main activity for the day was to collect water in jerry cans so we could bathe in the motorhome. Our vehicle had even that, a small bathroom to take a shower in situations like this when we were in the middle of nowhere 😅.
Este pueblo del interior era realmente muy tranquilo y quizás no había tanto para ver o hacer, pero encontramos un buen camping libre al costado de un río. Llegamos algo tarde, así que justo nos agarró el atardecer. A esta altura del viaje ya no habría tiempo para hacer paradas en hostels, por lo que nuestra principal actividad del día fue recolectar agua en bidones para poder bañarnos en el motorhome. Nuestro vehículo tenía incluso eso, un pequeño baño para ducharse en situaciones como estas en las que estuviéramos en el medio de la nada 😅.
Barda del Medio was a very quiet town so we had to do the entertainment ourselves. As always in all these days of travel, there was no shortage of music and wine to have a good time. My companions also took care of making tortillas on the grill: a mixture of flour, fat, water and salt which we then cooked on the fire. Honestly, I must tell you that the tortillas looked better than they tasted, because something must have gone wrong with the proportions and they were too greasy (although we still ate them all) 😅.
Barda del Medio fue un pueblo muy tranquilo así que el entretenimiento tuvimos que hacerlo nosotros. Como siempre en todos estos días de viaje, no faltó algo de música y vino para pasar un buen rato. También mis compañeros se encargaron de hacer tortillas en la parrilla: una mezcla de harina, grasa, agua y sal que luego cocinamos al fuego. Honestamente, debo decirles que las tortillas se veían mejor de lo que sabían, porque algo habrá fallado en las proporciones y quedaron demasiado grasosas (aunque igual las comimos todas) 😅.
This trip was entertaining until the moments when we thought there was nothing to do. I think this is the most important thing in a shared trip: to be able to be always in a good mood so that the coexistence is light. The group we formed with these travellers was more than fun, it felt like we all knew each other before. Even when it looked like we were going to be sad that the trip was coming to an end, we managed to make the moment memorable. And that was the best thing of all ❤️.
Esta viaje fue entretenido hasta el los momentos en los que pensabamos que no había nada para hacer. Creo que esto es lo más importante dentro de un viaje compartido: poder estar siempre con buena onda para que la convivencia sea ligera. El grupo que formamos con estos viajeros fue más que divertido, se sintió como si todos nos conociéramos desde antes. Incluso cuando parecía que íbamos a estar tristes porque el viaje estaba llegando a su fin, nos ingeniamos para hacer el momento memorable. Y eso fue lo mejor de todo ❤️.
