My friends planned for a week vacation and perfect timing because I also do not have work for several days. So we agreed to visit another friend and go to a famous spot nearby their place. So today, we visited Jagusais Cold Spring in Jaro, Leyte.
It was almost noon time when we arrived at our friends' place after the 4 hours travel from home. Yes, we travelled as early as 5 in the morning. I really appreciate our friend's hospitality as they prepared food for us and they already prepared everything we needed at the venue.
We rode their van going to the place because the spot is not accessible to public transport yet. It was like a hidden gem. As we arrived, we still needed to walk a little further passing a forest-like place with rough ground. There are parts when we have to climb to a high ground so the path is also not easy and it is breath catching. But after the 10 minute walk, it was all worth it.
We paid for our entrance of 50 pesos each and contributed for the cottage. Inspite feeling hungry, I first took pictures of the place and enjoyed the ambiance while there are still few people. Actually, our group came first.
After taking pictures, I went to eat. So grateful for the delicious food prepared. My tummy was so full.
After eating, we went swimming. As I dipped my feet into the water, I already felt cold. I tried gradually submerging and I already I was already trembling while in the water. My friends are already enjoying swimming into the depth while I find myself stuck in a corner, embracing myself, my head still dry due to the cold water. My friends are already laughing at me while watching me tremble due to the cold. I am also laughing at myself as I shout every move I make because it is so cold. I really wondered how they managed to hear the cold water and even get to play while I am trying to make little step. But a little later, I felt sad that I would not be able enjoy the fee I paid and the moment as this might be our last visit, so I force myself to swim. Remembering the scenario, still make me laugh.
Even when I got out of the water. I'm still trembling from the cold and so I decided to just dry myself. Good thing the weather is hot. I can't imagine how colder would it have been if it was raining.
We decided to go home at 3 in the afternoon. Before leaving the place, of course we took a group picture. While on our way home, we also took some edible ferns and we planned to prepare for it dinner. Sadly as we went home, it was later found out that the vehicle's tire was flat so we were stranded in an isolated place far from any store or vulcanizing shop. So we were left on the road while the vehicle's wheel was sent to the shop. Another sad happening was, we were caught by the heavy rain. So we took shelter and let the rain pass by after an hour.
At the end of the day, it was still a joyful moment with friends and a terribly cold experience for me.
