The Night of … 1645
Head in the Clouds
It’s another day above ground and another day – day 7 – I believe, up at 5 AM. That’s right. On a Sunday. It was important to get up at 5 today because I was up late last night. Not because it was a “wild Saturday night.” I have a project I’m working on that I particularly enjoy. It’s more media, but not the show.
We were jolted by the alarm this morning and before Mind could convince us to sleep in Sunday we were upright, sitting on the side of the bed determined not to go back to sleep.
“How long do We have to stay awake before We can go back to sleep and still claim a 5 AM wake up?” Igo wondered.
“Two or three hours,” came the answer from Source.
We knew that we were precariously close to going back to bed so we exited the bedroom and got right to the morning workout. We took just enough time to light a candle.
If I haven’t mentioned it already, our main focus is on floor-core work. Crunches, leg lifts, twisting and the like. Got a few pushups in as well. Our goal is to strengthen the core, and loosen the hips. And also lengthen & strengthen those vastus muscles in the legs. We are going to walk into our next century on our own two very powerful legs.
We got out to the park around 0800 this morning. It was beautiful out. We allowed our Self not to train, although we brought our gear. We just chilled – as we always say We’re going to do before We start working out. Today we had yet another project to work on; Our next Substack Newsletter. (If you are not enjoying this daily on noxsoma.substack.com, consider coming on over and checking it out. Confidentially though, you won’t get too much more there than you will here. We’re very equitable across platforms. Nonetheless, it’s a free sub – so check it out.) We spent the park time tapping out a section describing the Full Metal Ox daily video series.
Later in the afternoon it poured down raining!! The power flicked in and out. Went off for less than ten minutes. Maybe the AI is good for something. I don’t ever remember humans working that quickly to restore power. I’ll give FPL its props.
The only way I had a hint that the power went off was the sound the laptop makes when it loses connections and then reconnects with the hard drives. Note: I’m an “exterior hard-drive” guy. I don’t have much of anything on anyone’s cloud. As for what’s been languishing in cyber-space for 25 years, it’s better off deleted. Remember when the threat in regards to posting incriminating pictures was, “The internet is forever?” Well, wrong again Marylou. Not even diamonds are forever anymore.
The cloud is like renting a storage locker for stuff that you don’t really want, but you can’t seem to get rid of – and you don’t really know why. It’s like purgatory for your stuff. The clouds, in my humble opinion are the same. It’s a cyber purgatory for the 130 images you took at whatshername’s party and she was soooo drunk… and… and … “Who was that again?” And they’re just waiting to haunt you and break up your current relationship.
And the next thing you know you’re deleting your spam files and you notice an “urgent” message concerning your “cloud storage.” The company has been sold to an Indian start up and they will be taking control and ownership of clients’ – including your – cloud collection. Twenty years worth of questionable, perhaps NSFW behavior?
Anyway, that’s why I don’t use anybody’s cloud – that I am aware of.
Starting the second week of meatless days. Three days a week, Sunday through Tuesday of meatless meals. Don’t get excited vegans. You’re not getting a new recruit. Meatless means just that, and ONLY that. Eggs, cheese, fish (although I haven’t had fish) - is all on the menu. We have lentils, potatoes, quinoa of these days and green veggies. I might soak some beans overnight. But I tell yuh what; beans ain’t beans without some ham hock in the stew.
If you have any bean recipes, (I don’t eat rice) feel free to suggest in the comments.
Even when I think these articles might be short, there’s always something that takes me round the bend. I kind of like it. Call it “my style.”
One more detour. The word “style” comes from the word that means, “pen,” as in (when people wrote by hand) “stylus.” Scribes had a recognizable “style” and the word crept into everything else, including panache and even life. There’s something very eerie about Germans and psychology – but more on that in the distant future – the term “life style” comes to us via a German psychologist… or is it psychiatrist? Look it up for yourself.
It’s time to spark up that candle again, along with some incense – Jasmine is on the menu tonight. Any fans? It’s a little strong, but I like it and it lasts for a couple of days.
