Even though today is the 26th of December, which is Boxing Day, some people have decided to continue their Christmas celebrations by cooking different kinds of meals and sharing the love with others in the neighbourhood.
There is a woman selling provisions and foodstuffs just opposite our building. She was even the one who lent me her big pot to cook the food I served yesterday, and also a cooler where I kept the food so it wouldn’t get cold. I woke up early to prepare the meal and kept it warm till I returned back from the church.
She decided to celebrate hers today. I went to church as early as 8 am because there was a youth prayer for everyone who cared to show up. The purpose was to commit the new year into God’s hand and as youths, we need that. Between, I have been made the Vice President for the youth and the work of God has started.
We spent almost 5 hours in the church as we fellowshipped together in God’s presence. I got home and bought bread in the thought of frying some eggs to eat, but when I got inside and opened my fridge to take water, I realised I had some rice that was remaining from yesterday, which I’d kept but forgot.
I ate the rice then slept afterwards because I was extremely tired, and a few hours later, someone knocked on my door and I was given some rice and chicken by the woman. I knew the bread might get wasted and decided to dash it out.
The children had a lot of fun outside, as everywhere was bubbling up with music being played for them to dance to, but I sat in front of my door for a while and thought of writing this post. Honestly, I had no idea what to write, and so, I decided to just make this random post to share about my day.
