We are now celebrating the Basudani Festival. Hooray for this day! We celebrate it with our friends and a few invited visitors, and although they came at different times, we're still able to have a really joyful moment with those individuals while having a feast on our small table. We were also able to put a smile on their faces by giving them delicious foods, and with that, we are grateful for this wonderful day.
I feel like I'm in a disco bar with the kind of music that is playing right now. It is so loud that it can cause headaches for anyone. Like seriously! But what's with the loud music, you ask? Well, today is Fiesta in our town, and there's a lot of activity to look forward to. One is the street dancing, which will happen in the afternoon. These are competitions between students from elementary to high school.
This is one of the traditions that's been going on for more than 20 years now. I can't remember the exact year or when it started, but it was really an exciting event for us all here in Bansud. And that is why it is very loud here at our place. Early in the morning, people are already setting up those big speakers along a different route or where the dancer will dance to showcase all of their costumes and dancing skills.
As for us, we are all busy too, setting up the table and the three dishes we prepared for our visitors. Mommy D gets all her "pang malakasang" kitchenware that we don't use that often. Those plastic plates and those glasses too. While I cook the rice as I am assigned for that role. We also didn't open the store in the morning and only did so at 12 p.m. We are all busy, omg!
And here are the dishes we prepared for today's event. Pork Caldereta, Chicken Caldereta, and Pork Batchoy with Liver. That's my mom's specialty and also our favorite. We actually planned to make chicken curry, but then I got lazy to go back to the market again, so we just opted to cook chicken caldereta too.
Now, for our first visitor, it was Aunt Velyn with her friend. I know her, but I forgot her name. Mama also ate with us, as did Mommy D. It was only me and Mommy F who didn't eat with them that time because we were still full from our breakfast that morning. And while they are eating, they are talking nonstop too. They ask Mama about her long vacation in her hometown and also talk about something else too. As for me, I am in my room waiting for them to finish so that I can wash the dishes. Lol.
More people came after Aunt Velyn and her friend, 7 to be exact. Although we want to invite more, the food we prepared is not enough. As I've said, we are also in such a crisis right now that we can't just spend a lot. But we are so happy to serve the food we prepared for these people, though it is just a few servings, and only a few people were able to eat. And I think they enjoy the food that we serve them. Well, I can vouch for Mom's cooking, so I'm pretty sure they will really enjoy it.
It's a busy day but it is seriously a fulfilling day too for us. There's a lot more to look forward tonight. There's a variety show that was initiated only for Bansudeños. Of course we will watch it, just me and Mama though. My oldies can't do a long walk anymore to go to the Plaza and i'm sure they are tired too from the long day. I will share what will happen tonight, maybe tomorrow. Please look forward to it guys. (☞o) ☞
