This land was filled with different plants before, including some tall trees that the occupants planted here. I love to take this route because, aside from being a shortcut, the view along the way is magnificent, thanks to the different flowers and plants that are here. I'm not sure what happened, but the one occupying this land left. And the once-green field full of colorful flowers was now left for dead, empty, with a lot of dead grasses and full of trash. There's a small carinderia in the front, where I often buy pancit for breakfast.
It's just sad that this place looks like this now. I heard the owner of this land was planning to sell it to some wealthy people, and those wealthy people have a plan to build a building here, not sure what kind. They even put wires as a fence on the whole land, covering the exit and entrance. Thanks to that, our shortcuts to the Pet Shop, Pick Up Shop, and the small Carenderia where I buy things are now gone. But months after building a fence on it, some people just decided to open the entrance and exit, so we can use it again. I'm just not sure who broke the fences, lolol.
Anyway, despite its sad look now, there's still something pretty that you can see here, just like this mushroom, which is well hidden in the dried bushes. If Mama didn't mention it, I would never see them because they are under those bushes. This mushroom is way bigger than the mushrooms I found in our home. And they are everywhere, just sprouting on those old wood or trees that were scattered on the ground. While I'm taking a photo, Mama comments that lots of people eat mushrooms in other country, while to us it's like an unknown species. And it's true, we are not that knowledgeable when it comes to mushrooms, which is why we're afraid to eat them.
Anyways, Mama just received her monthly pension, so she decided to go visit the grocery store to buy some important necessities: Lioe detergent powder, her "katol," shampoo, and some other things. I want to tease her that I want a burger, but, as a good kid - charrrr, lol - I mean, even a treat like this can't be done now because of the inflation, and the prices of the goods that we need are also high. It is so sad, we can't treat ourselves now because we need to watch our expenses, aguy.
I saw some of my favorite snacks here, the Polvoron is tempting me. I want to buy them, but I have to stop myself. This is why adulting is so hard. I just want to go back to being a kid. Just kidding. Lol. But I'm sure the day will come when we don't have to calculate anymore when we have to buy things because we have a lot of money. I wish! I wish! I wish! ᕙ(͡°‿ ͡°)ᕗ
Moving on, we're on our way home when we see these Saba Bananas on the sidewalk. I heard these would be transported to other big cities. They have other varieties of bananas here, but I couldn't get a photo of them. I'm curious how much they will sell all of these for. One thing I noticed about these bananas was that they were so big.
They are perfect for a banana cue or maybe a turon. I missed those kinds of snacks. It has been a long time since I last had Turon or Banana Cue, and Maruya is good too. I remember that those foods were one of our favorite snacks in college. We survived those years thanks to them too, hehe. Some of you know that just a stick of this is enough to make us full ᕙ(͡°‿ ͡°)ᕗ. Studying with a full stomach is a must! Righty? Hihi
By the way, here's a take-home after that long walk, hehe. Aside from shopping for necessities, we also buy ingredients for our lunch. We are all craving something sour, so we cook sinigang. And here are the main ingredients, milk fish, fresh okra, and fresh pechay. Y'all can see how fresh the okra is, right? I love eating okra with a special dip made with calamansi or lime with soy sauce, add chili if you have it. So yeah, we had an amazing lunch, and we ate this dish until dinner. Yum yum!
