“Should I start my gardening journey?”
Honestly, that question pops up in my head sooo many times. It wasn't until last week that I decided to take action. My mom’s older sister recently moved her plants from the upstairs area to the front of her house. So, I can see all of them everyday. Some of her plants actually have even been harvested. And I can’t help but feel jealous LOL haha
I’ve always wanted to have my own small garden, but I also always had excuses to not start experimenting with plants. But seeing my aunt’s green little corner, I know I need to give it a try right now. I bought some plant seeds online, but maybe I’ll share the details in another blog. Today, I want to share about my plant-shopping experience.
Last Sunday, after the plant seeds that I ordered arrived, I randomly went to the plant store. I needed to buy soil, fertilizer, and other stuff to start my gardening journey. It’s not too far from my house; actually there’s a street lined with plant shops. So, honestly, it’s very convenient.
After I arrived and paid for a bag of soil and husk, I stayed a bit longerto wander around the plant store. Of course, there are many plants from indoor plants, to flowers, to a small citrus tree. I overheard a customer ask if the owner had a mango plant and she said there’s one that had actually grown quite tall.
To be honest, I considered buying the little orange tree because there were some oranges already hanging beautifully>< it costs only about $3, but since I’ve never had any gardening experience, I was worried that it wouldn’t last long. So, I bought a beautiful flower plant instead. There are many varieties and even the ones that were already growing cost about $0.5, which I didn’t expect was that cheap.
But, we know that the challenge is to keeping it alive. So I will try my best now, wish me luck. Anyway, my first plant shopping experience turned out to be a pleasant one because the woman who owns the shop was VERY VERY VERY warm and friendly. She’s probably around my mom’s age, and she was so patient with her customers. Even though I initially came just to buy a bag of soil and husk for less than $1, she smiled throughout the conversation.
I wish I’ll remember where exactly her shop is located so I could shop there again, because from distance, you can’t even tell the differences between each store since all of them full of plants><
Anyway, that’s it for today. Let me take care of my plants first before actually sharing anything lol I’m really scared that I won't try again if I fail this time, so wish me luck😁 Thanks for reading as always, have a great day! :)
