A few days ago, the most traditional fair of our city, Jasim Palli Mela, started. This fair is organized every year in memory of Pallikbi Jasimuddin.
However, the organization of this fair was stopped for several years. There used to be a kind of frustration among the people of the city for this fair to be closed. But the fair has started again from last year. This fair has started on January 11.
But I always try to go a few days after the fair starts. Because many stalls are empty at the beginning of the fair. But after a few days, it is seen that all the stalls of the fair have been fully opened. It is nice to see the fair then.
But this time, even though several days have passed since the start of the fair, they did not go to the fair. Last night I was going to the mosque to pray Isha. After going some distance, I saw a group of people in the area in front of my friend Rubel's drug store.
A boy called me from inside and said brother, we are all going to the fair, are you going or not? I said I am going to pray now. If I want to go to the fair, I will pray and then I will go. The boy said if you want to go we can wait till namaz is over. Then I said to the boy ok you wait for a while. I have finished praying.
There was a time when I used to go to fairs with local friends. It was a great fun experience. However, it has been a long time since the fair was not visited that way.
So this time I took the opportunity to get it. I quickly returned home after praying and quickly got ready and left. I came and saw that about 8/9 people had already gathered. Some of those 8/9 people were our friends. And some were younger brothers of the area..
Anyway in an auto rickshaw we left for the fair. But our first destination was to stop for tea at Ambikapur Bazaar. Then leave the auto and walk to the fair from there. Because the distance from that tea shop to the fair is not much. We reached our first destination in no time. On reaching there, everyone drank cow's milk tea. Meanwhile a friend from the area called and said he was also coming to join us. Then we decided to wait for him for a while. But did not have to wait long. Within few minutes he was there.
Then we all left for the fair together. A different kind of fun was working in everyone. All of us were drunk in various chats. But when we reached the fair, it was 8:30 pm. We thought the fair would not be very crowded this time. But on reaching the fair, I realized that our idea was completely wrong. I saw many people at the fair even at night.
Originally I had planned to come to the fair with my family. But I did not want to lose the opportunity to have friends and younger brothers. As a result, I went to the fair with them. So in the fair, we started looking around the shops from the beginning to the end.
But this time I noticed that several stalls are still empty. Which is not in other fairs. After visiting the whole fair, we sat in a restaurant to have something light. We ate haleem and phuchka from that restaurant. There were nine of us in total. After eating and drinking there, we wandered around the fair for a while and then headed home. On my way back, I planned to come to the fair with my family after a few days. Because my daughter was waiting for several days to go to the fair. Thinking about when I can come to the fair with my family, I started returning home.
