Despertando con alegría
Feliz día, amigos, espero que se encuentren muy bien. Yo me siento agradecida con el universo y con Dios por permitirme estar hoy aquí escribiendo este post, con la tranquilidad de tener a mi familia completa, donde todos nos hemos alimentado hoy y estamos de pie. Tener eso ya es una bendición.
Ayer estuve en la misa de aguinaldo, que es una tradición venezolana de la iglesia católica que consiste en asistir a una misa en las horas de madrugada, antes se realizaba a las 5 a.m Actualmente eso varía según el lugar, por ejemplo en la comunidad donde vivo se sigue haciendo a las 5 am, pero en otros lugares las hacen a las 6 am o incluso a las 7 am como es en el centro de Cagua.
Waking up with joy
Happy day, friends, I hope you are feeling well. I feel grateful to the universe and to God for allowing me to be here today writing this post, with the peace of mind of having my family complete, where we have all been fed today and we are standing on our feet. To have that is already a blessing.
Yesterday I was at the aguinaldo mass, which is a Venezuelan tradition of the catholic church that consists of attending a mass in the early hours of the morning, it used to be done at 5 am. Currently that varies depending on the place, for example in the community where I live it is still done at 5 am, but in other places they do them at 6 am or even at 7 am as it is in the center of Cagua.
Estas misas son especiales porque su música es diferente, asisten a agrupaciones de niños o jóvenes y entonan canciones de villancicos o aguinaldos y su letra está relacionada con la Navidad y el nacimiento de Jesús o de una nueva etapa como cristianos. En estas misas los músicos hacen parrandas y son muy alegres, además en los últimos años los templos religiosos los decoran también de Navidad con arbolitos y nacimientos.
Yo me levanté a las 4.30 y la verdad me costó mucho porque la noche anterior, o mejor dicho, horas antes, me acaba de acostar a la 1 a. m., Y así han sido los últimos días, pero el espíritu de la Navidad se apodera de mí y me empuja a vivir esta experiencia 😅. Invité a mi hermano y tía los niños de la casa a que me acompañaran y a ellos les emociona salir a cualquier parte.
These masses are special because their music is different, they are attended by groups of children or young people and they sing carols or aguinaldos and their lyrics are related to Christmas and the birth of Jesus or a new stage as Christians. In these masses the musicians make parrandas and are very cheerful, also in recent years the religious temples are also decorated for Christmas with trees and nativity scenes.
I got up at 4.30 and the truth is that it was very hard for me because the night before, or rather, hours before, I just went to bed at 1 a. m., And so have been the last few days, but the spirit of Christmas takes hold of me and pushes me to live this experience 😅. I invited my brother and aunt the children of the house to join me and they are excited to go out anywhere.
La misa estuvo preciosa, la iglesia estaba llena y casi que no conseguimos puestos. Resulta que cada misa de aguinaldo tiene un propósito como debe ser, pero yo no sabía eso. ¡Todos los días se aprende algo nuevo, cierto! La misa de ayer era para las instituciones educativas y los estudiantes y por eso asistieron docentes y alumnos de todas las escuelas y preparatorias de mi comunidad, con sus pendones muy bonitos. Dejo la imagen adjunta de la publicidad para que vean los propósitos de cada día de misa de aguinaldo y son los mismos para todas las iglesias católicas de Venezuela.
Ese día me encontré con vecinos y sentí mucha armonía en el ambiente. Al finalizar, repartieron café y galletas, pero nosotros no quisimos y decidimos volver a casa. Me dio vergüenza sacar fotos en plena misa y esperé cuando terminó para sacar algunas. Deseo volver a otra misa antes que culmine, que es el 24 de diciembre, y poder llevar a mi mamá.
The mass was beautiful, the church was packed and we almost didn't get seats. It turns out that every aguinaldo mass has a purpose as it should, but I didn't know that - you learn something new every day, right! Yesterday's mass was for the educational institutions and students and so teachers and students from all the schools and high schools in my community attended, with their very nice banners. I leave the attached image of the publicity so that you can see the purposes of each day of the aguinaldo mass and they are the same for all the catholic churches in Venezuela.
That day I met with neighbors and felt a lot of harmony in the atmosphere. At the end, they gave out coffee and cookies, but we didn't want any and decided to go home. I was embarrassed to take pictures in the middle of mass and waited when it was over to take some. I wish I could go back to another mass before it ends, which is December 24, and take my mom with me.
Esta tradición es una de las que más me gustan de Venezuela, en Colombia que es mi segunda patria realizan en los mismos días y por las noches la novena del niño Dios en las casas rodeados de la familia donde se canta y se leen oraciones, también es una tradición hermosa que he podido apreciar en diversos momentos.
