It’s Saturday, and I want to wish you all a well-deserved break—or the chance to continue resting—since yesterday was a holiday and many of you took the opportunity to step away from your routine for a bit. In our case, we’ll keep resting until Monday, since that’s also a holiday, so unless some last-minute emergency comes up, this weekend will be the longest we’ve had in a long time—four full days to breathe, relax, and recharge.
And for us, being near the sea is the best way to make the most of these days. Just knowing we can hear it, feel its breeze, and gaze at its vastness already gives us a sense of relief. So, in the morning we did some chores and took care of those never-ending tasks at home, because there’s always something to tidy up, clean, or check. But we did it without rushing, enjoying the gentle pace that only a long weekend can offer.
In the afternoon, we decided to go to El Tirano Beach, one of the closest to home and one of our favorites for a leisurely stroll. We love walking right along the shore, where the salt air mingles with laughter, relaxation, and that atmosphere so characteristic of Margarita’s beaches.
Llegó el sábado y quiero desearles un merecido descanso, o la continuación del mismo, porque ayer fue feriado y muchos aprovecharon para desconectarse un poco de la rutina. En nuestro caso, seguiremos descansando hasta el lunes, ya que también es feriado, así que si no surge alguna emergencia de último minuto, este fin de semana será el más largo que hemos tenido en mucho tiempo; cuatro días completos para respirar, relajarnos y recargar energías.
Y estar cerca del mar, para nosotros, es la mejor manera de aprovechar estos días. El simple hecho de saber que podemos escucharlo, sentir su brisa y contemplar su inmensidad ya nos da una sensación de alivio. Por eso, en la mañana hicimos algunos quehaceres y atendimos esos pendientes que nunca faltan en casa, porque siempre hay algo que ordenar, limpiar o revisar. Pero lo hicimos sin prisa, disfrutando el ritmo suave que solo un fin de semana largo puede regalar.
En la tarde decidimos ir a playa El Tirano, una de las más cercanas a casa y una de nuestras favoritas para pasear sin apuros. Nos encanta caminar muy cerca de la orilla, donde el salitre se mezcla con las risas, la relajación y ese ambiente tan propio de las playas de Margarita.
As soon as we arrived, we noticed that the weather was perfect; the sun was shining brightly, and it stung our skin a little, but nothing a good sunscreen couldn't handle—especially since we had no plans to go in the water.
The sea had gentle waves, nothing too challenging, just enough to liven up the scenery.
Apenas llegamos, notamos que el clima estaba ideal; el sol brillaba con fuerza, picaba un poco en la piel, pero nada que un buen protector solar no pudiera manejar, incluso si no teníamos intención de meternos al agua.
El mar tenía un oleaje suave, nada desafiante, solo lo suficiente para darle vida al paisaje.
We sat for a while to enjoy the fresh air, that irresistible scent of the sea and salt that seems to clear our thoughts and lighten our minds. My husband and I thoroughly enjoy these moments; we’ve been looking forward to them ever since we decided to leave home. For us, the anticipation of the ride is already part of the enjoyment.
We came on the motorcycle because it’s easy to park and lets us experience the journey more fully. The wind on our faces, the scenery passing by on either side, the freedom to stop wherever we want… these are the little details that make the experience even more beautiful.
Nos sentamos un rato a disfrutar del aire fresco, de ese aroma irresistible a mar y sal que parece limpiar los pensamientos y dejar la mente ligera. Estos instantes los disfrutamos muchísimo mi esposo y yo; los disfrutamos desde el mismo momento en que decidimos salir de casa. Para nosotros, la anticipación del paseo ya forma parte del disfrute.
Vinimos en la moto porque es fácil de aparcar y nos permite sentir el trayecto de una manera más plena. El viento en la cara, el paisaje pasando a los lados, la libertad de detenernos donde queramos… son pequeños detalles que hacen la experiencia más bonita.
We walked almost the entire length of the beach until we reached the fishermen’s area, which always has a special charm. Seeing the fishing boats, the nets, and the boats lined up on the sand—all of that is part of the essence of this place.
Recorrimos casi toda la playa hasta llegar a la zona de los pescadores, que siempre tiene un encanto especial. Ver las lanchas, las redes, los botes alineados en la arena, todo eso forma parte de la esencia de este lugar.
And, of course, if we make it there, we can’t leave without taking a look at the Guayamurí. From a distance, it looks majestic, as if it were posing for a great photo. It’s a sight you never tire of, one that always invites you to pause for a moment and take it all in.
Y, por supuesto, si llegamos hasta allí, no podemos irnos sin mirar al Guayamurí. Desde la distancia se ve imponente, como si posara para una gran foto. Es una imagen que nunca cansa, que siempre invita a detenerse un momento y contemplar.
After spending a peaceful afternoon, with our lungs full of fresh air and our hearts feeling lighter, we decided to head home. We’ll be back, because we still have a few days of rest left and we want to make the most of them. Our afternoon passed quietly, accompanied by the sound of the sea, and I wanted to share this moment with you—so relaxing, so simple, and so uniquely ours.
