[ENG/ESP] A Friday that ended with the scent of the sea.

Saturdays always arrive with a special energy—a blend of quiet joy and that spark of the unexpected that we appreciate so much after a week full of responsibilities. They have that feeling of taking a deep breath, as if the day itself were inviting us to slow down, look around, and simply enjoy ourselves. At home, we’ve already planned to spend this Saturday as relaxed as possible, letting ourselves be carried away by the calm we’ve been longing for.
That’s why this past Friday we tried to get all our errands and commitments out of the way, so we could free up Saturday and dedicate it to resting without any rush. Plus, traffic on the island is already starting to feel heavier with the arrival of tourists coming to enjoy Holy Week. You can see it on the avenues, on the beaches, in the small details of daily life. The island is coming alive, and although it sometimes makes getting around a bit more complicated, it also brings that special seasonal feeling that is so characteristic of Margarita.
This Friday, we carried out our work routine at Hotel Unik in the morning and, in the afternoon, at Isla Caribe.
Before leaving home, as always, I took my little tour of the chicken coop and my plants. That morning ritual fills me with peace. It gave me immense joy to see how the marpacífico—or cayena, as they call it here in Venezuela—was in bloom. When it first started blooming, it had only one flower, and today it had seven. Seven open, beautiful, vibrant flowers, as if the plant itself were celebrating the start of the day with me. I stood there for a moment, watching them, grateful for that simple beauty that brightens up my routine so much.

Los sábados siempre llegan con una energía especial, una mezcla de alegría tranquila y esa chispa de lo inesperado que tanto se agradece después de una semana llena de responsabilidades. Tienen ese aire de respiro profundo, como si el día mismo nos invitara a bajar el ritmo, mirar alrededor y simplemente disfrutar. En casa ya tenemos planeado pasar este sábado de la manera más relajada posible, dejándonos llevar por la calma que tanto se anhela.
Por eso este viernes que recién culminó tratamos de cumplir con todos nuestros recorridos y compromisos, para así liberar el sábado y poder dedicarlo a descansar sin apuros. Además, el tráfico en la Isla ya comienza a sentirse más pesado por la llegada de los turistas que vienen a disfrutar la Semana Santa. Se nota en las avenidas, en las playas, en los pequeños detalles del movimiento diario. La Isla se va llenando de vida, y aunque a veces complique un poco los traslados, también trae esa sensación de temporada especial que tanto caracteriza a Margarita.
Este viernes cumplimos con nuestra rutina de trabajo en el Hotel Unik durante la mañana y, en la tarde, con Isla Caribe.
Antes de salir de casa, como siempre, hice mi pequeño recorrido por el gallinero y mis plantas. Ese ritual matutino me llena de paz. Me dio una alegría enorme ver cómo el marpacífico —o cayena, como le llaman aquí en Venezuela— estaba florecido. Cuando comenzó a florecer solo tenía una flor, y este día tenía siete. Siete flores abiertas, hermosas, vibrantes, como si la planta misma celebrara conmigo el inicio del día. Me quedé un momento observándolas, agradeciendo esa belleza sencilla que tanto ilumina la rutina.

We set out on our tour at nine in the morning, because we were scheduled to meet at the Sunsol Unik at 10:15. We had plenty of time to take our time and enjoy the journey. As usual, I captured a few moments with my camera: the natural landscape, the urban scenery, and the contrasts that never fail to surprise me, even though I see them every day.

Comenzamos nuestro recorrido a las nueve de la mañana, porque en el Sunsol Unik nos esperaban a las diez y quince. Teníamos tiempo suficiente para ir sin prisas, disfrutando el camino. Como es costumbre, capturé algunos momentos con mi lente: el paisaje natural, el urbano, los contrastes que siempre me sorprenden aunque los vea todos los días.

Through beautiful scenery, we arrived at the hotel, where we were greeted with their usual warmth. We went through our usual work routine, and everything went very smoothly; the readings came back normal, which filled us with satisfaction. With that sense of a job well done, we headed home.

Entre vistas hermosas llegamos al hotel, donde nos recibieron con la calidez de siempre. Realizamos nuestra rutina de trabajo y todo salió muy bien; los parámetros dieron correctamente, lo que nos llenó de satisfacción. Con esa sensación de deber cumplido, regresamos a casa.

Around three in the afternoon, we set out again, this time heading to Sunsol Isla Caribe, to continue our work. We didn’t leave until the readings were within the ideal range.

Cerca de las tres de la tarde salimos nuevamente, esta vez hacia Sunsol Isla Caribe, para continuar con nuestra labor. No nos retiramos hasta que los parámetros estuvieron dentro de los estándares ideales.

By the time we finally finished, that sense of relaxation that Fridays bring was already setting in, as if our bodies and minds were beginning to shed the weight of the week.
Before heading home, we stopped by El Tirano Beach to take in the ocean. The waves were beautiful, contrasting with the soft light of the setting sun. I love spending time by the sea; it’s something I deeply enjoy. Its scent, its sound, its vastness… they always bring me peace.

Cuando finalmente terminamos, ya comenzaba a sentirse esa sensación de descanso que traen los viernes, como si el cuerpo y la mente empezaran a soltar el peso de la semana.
Antes de volver a casa, pasamos por playa El Tirano para apreciar el mar. Sus olas estaban hermosas, contrastando con la luz suave de la tarde que caía. Me encanta pasar tiempo cerca del mar; es algo que disfruto profundamente. Su aroma, su sonido, su inmensidad… siempre me regalan paz.
