Friday has arrived, and with it comes that long-awaited break we all look forward to at the end of the week. Although Holy Week has officially begun, we think this weekend will be calmer than the last one. Maybe it’s the weather, maybe it’s the atmosphere, or maybe it’s simply our desire to slow down a bit. Today I want to tell you about how our workday went yesterday, which was filled with little details that make every day a little happier and more beautiful.
We just had to go to Sunsol Ecoland to do our chlorination and disinfection, the last one of the week unless something unexpected came up. As always, we got ready to leave early, because the sun is really strong these days. It’s a stifling heat, the kind that feels like a burning embrace on your skin, but that also offers the chance to capture beautiful, colorful images.
The drive to the hotel is one of the longest for us, but also one of the most pleasant. We can take Simplicio Rodríguez Avenue or Portachuelo, and we almost always take one route on the way there and another on the way back, to enjoy different landscapes. This time we chose Simplicio Rodríguez, because I love smelling the scent of the sea as we drive along. There’s something deeply relaxing about watching the blue of the sky blend with the blue of the sea, as if the two were embracing on the horizon.
Llegó el viernes y, con él, se avizora ese anhelado descanso que todos esperamos al final de la semana. Aunque ya comienza oficialmente la Semana Santa, nosotros creemos que este fin de semana será más calmado que el anterior. Tal vez el clima, tal vez el ambiente, tal vez simplemente nuestras ganas de respirar un poco más despacio. Hoy quiero contarles cómo transcurrió nuestra jornada de trabajo de ayer, que estuvo llena de pequeños detalles que hacen que cada día sea más alegre y hermoso.
Solo debíamos ir a Sunsol Ecoland para efectuar nuestra cloración y desinfección, la última de esta semana si no surgía ningún imprevisto. Como siempre, nos preparamos para salir temprano, porque el sol en estos días está realmente fuerte. Es un calor sofocante, de esos que se sienten en la piel como un abrazo ardiente, pero que también regala la oportunidad de capturar imágenes hermosas, llenas de colores.
El trayecto hacia el hotel es uno de los más largos para nosotros, pero también uno de los más placenteros. Podemos hacerlo por la avenida Simplicio Rodríguez o por Portachuelo, y casi siempre tomamos un camino a la ida y otro a la vuelta, para disfrutar paisajes distintos. Esta vez elegimos la Simplicio Rodríguez, porque me encanta sentir el aroma del mar mientras avanzamos. Hay algo profundamente relajante en ver cómo el azul del cielo se funde con el azul del mar, como si ambos se abrazaran en el horizonte.

Amidst the sky, the hills, and that salty scent that signals the sea’s proximity, we finally arrived at our destination.
La verdad es que este trayecto es hermoso. Aproveché para tomar algunas fotografías, no solo para inmortalizar el momento, sino también para mostrarles un pedacito de la belleza natural de Margarita.
Entre cielo, cerros y ese aroma salado que anuncia la cercanía del mar, llegamos finalmente a nuestro destino.
At Sunsol Ecoland, we’re always greeted with a kindness that’s truly appreciated. The quality manager welcomed us with the hospitality that defines them. We went up to the main tank to perform the chlorination and disinfection. Since we’d been keeping a close eye on all the controls throughout the week, we expected the parameters to be correct—and they were. Everything was in order, everything working as it should.
With the work finished, the maintenance manager took me to a spot by the tank where we could see views of the hotel from a different angle. And what views! I’m not sure my phone’s camera managed to capture all the beauty of the place, but I gave it a try. Sometimes nature outshines any camera.
En Sunsol Ecoland siempre nos reciben con una amabilidad que se agradece. El gerente de calidad nos dio la bienvenida con esa hospitalidad que los caracteriza. Subimos al tanque principal para realizar la cloración y desinfección. Como hemos estado muy pendientes de todos los controles durante la semana, era de esperarse que los parámetros estuvieran correctos, y así fue. Todo en orden, todo funcionando como debe ser.
Con el trabajo terminado, el gerente de mantenimiento me llevó a un punto del tanque desde donde se podían ver vistas del hotel desde otro ángulo. Y qué vistas. No estoy segura de que el lente de mi celular haya logrado capturar toda la belleza del lugar, pero hice el intento. A veces la naturaleza supera cualquier cámara.
After enjoying that moment, we set off on our way back, passing through Santa Ana and Tacarigua. We stopped at “Alimentos Margarita” because we needed to buy starter feed for the chicks that hatched this week.
With the feed in hand, we continued on our way home, already feeling a sense of accomplishment.
Después de disfrutar ese momento, emprendimos el camino de regreso atravesando Santa Ana y Tacarigua. Hicimos una parada en “Alimentos Margarita” porque necesitábamos comprar inicio para los pollitos que nos nacieron esta semana.
Con el alimento en mano, continuamos rumbo a casa, ya con la sensación de misión cumplida.
The day went really well. The weather, though hot, cooled off a bit thanks to some clouds that appeared in the sky, as if they wanted to give us a break. It was a simple day, but full of those little details that make every day special.
