Dear hives, a few days ago, I had the opportunity to travel to Juan Griego, a picturesque town located in the Marcano municipality. Although the journey from my place of residence was very long, I came for work but I decided to take my whole family with me, because going is almost a whole day. That is why this journey not only involved work, but also the possibility of exploring and discovering places unknown to us.
One of the things we discovered on our tour, was the naval pumping station, a corner that I now share with you, dear readers of #dailyblog .
Queridos hives, hace unos días, tuve la oportunidad de viajar a Juan Griego, una ciudad pintoresca ubicada en el municipio Marcano. Aunque el trayecto desde mi lugar de residencia fue muy largo, vine por trabajo pero decidí llevar a toda mi familia conmigo, porque ir es estar casi un día entero. Por eso está jornada no solo implicaba trabajo, sino también la posibilidad de explorar y descubrir lugares desconocidos para nosotros.
Una de las cosas que descubrimos en nuestro recorrido, fue la estación naval de bombeo, un rincón que ahora comparto con ustedes, queridos lectores de #dailyblog .
Here, on Margarita Island, where sea and land intertwine, it is not surprising to find pumping stations for boats. I had heard of two of them: one near Boca de Rio and another in Porlamar (Los Cocos). However, I had never had the opportunity to see one in person. From a strategic cliff in the bay of Juan Griego, I was able to contemplate the pumping station.
Acá, en isla Margarita, donde el mar y la tierra se entrelazan, no es sorprendente encontrar estaciones de bombeo para barcos. Había escuchado hablar de dos de ellas: una cerca de Boca de Río y otra en Porlamar (Los Cocos). Sin embargo, nunca había tenido la oportunidad de ver una en persona. Desde un risco estratégico en la bahía de Juan Griego, pude contemplar la estación de bombeo.
Although I could not get any closer due to the closure of the road (reserved for the exclusive use of gandolas loaded with fuel and authorized personnel), the view from there was impressive.

Nearby there was a small park with concrete benches that offered a perfect place to contemplate the bay from a privileged angle. The rustic lamps, made with sticks, were to illuminate the environment during the nights, to create a magical atmosphere.

At the end of this park there was a path that led to an immense cliff on which there was a plaque allegorical to the poet Francisco Larez Granado.

Nature was also present in my tour. As I walked towards a cliff, I could see some pelicans resting placidly. Their bodies swayed with the swaying of the sea, as if they were in perfect harmony with the waves. They were patiently waiting for their chance to catch a fish. The temptation to capture that moment in photographs was irresistible. I took out my phone, immersed myself in the beauty of the scene. It was a magical moment that I wanted to immortalize in this photograph.
La naturaleza también se hizo presente en mi recorrido. Cuando caminé hacia un risco, pude ver algunos pelícanos descansando plácidamente. Sus cuerpos se contoneaban con el vaivén del mar, como si estuvieran en perfecta armonía con las olas. Esperaban pacientemente su oportunidad para atrapar algún pez. La tentación de capturar ese momento en fotografías fue irresistible. Saqué mi teléfono, me sumergí en la belleza de la escena. Era un instante mágico, que quería dejar inmortalizado, en esta fotografía
My husband, concerned for my safety, urged me to be careful as I walked along the rocks. However, the beauty of the place enveloped me like a warm embrace. It was more than just a panoramic view; it was a corner that invited meditation. It was as if time stood still and allowed me to immerse myself in the serenity of the moment.
Mi esposo, preocupado por mi seguridad, me instaba a tener cuidado mientras caminaba por las piedras. Sin embargo, la belleza del lugar me envolvía como un abrazo cálido. Era más que una simple vista panorámica; era un rincón que invitaba a meditar. Era como si el tiempo se detuviera y me permitiera sumergirme en la serenidad del momento.
Before continuing my exploration, I looked up and spotted Fortín La Galera, standing tall and proud, waving its flag at the top. That historical symbol reminded me of the rich heritage of Juan Griego and his role in the defense of the island. I took a picture, wanting to share with all of you that instant of connection with the past.
Antes de continuar mi exploración, levanté la vista y divisé el Fortín La Galera, erguido y orgulloso, ondeando la bandera en lo más alto. Ese símbolo histórico me recordó la rica herencia de Juan Griego y su papel en la defensa de la isla. Tomé una fotografía, queriendo compartir con todos ustedes ese instante de conexión con el pasado.
