Hello everyone, so it was yet another weekend filled with so many activities and work to do and in the end had some fun at the crossover night, outside on the streets on my town. Most of my work was done on Saturday, my mom is preparing to open a small store at our house and so all the materials needed were being purchased by me. So I had a lot of errands on Saturday, luckily I had a friend close by so I didn’t actually have to do everything on my own… had some help.
In the morning, we had to go purchase the wood need for roofing and after that we also had to get some nails and then finally some zinc for the roof. That days work, was solely for the roofing part of the work. Getting the wood part was very tough, especially in the cutting. So many saw dust around that I even forgot to take a picture. When we left that place when went to get the nails next. In my country, prices of everything has been increased and I was very surprised with the money we spend on buying only nails.
After getting the nails, we then had to go and get the zinc next. We decided to go to two places and then compare the prices and see which is cheaper because we just needed a few pieces. After deciding which to buy, we finally made our mind. All that we purchased were conveyed home my those tricycles used for picking up loads, here we call them ‘motorking’… I don’t know the actual name for that.
From now, it seems everything was settled for the roofing and we called the carpenter too who would be working on it within the week. So it was some few minutes past noon so we went to grab some lunch. We bought the food and headed straight home because, there was football matches too.
In the evening, it was time for the Arsenal game and after watching all the matches, I was praying for Arsenal to lose so then can at least drop some points at the top. But man, this Arsenal team are going all the way and I don’t think no team can stop them from winning the premier league title. One thing I can always brag about as a Manchester United fan is that we are the only team to beat them in the league lol. Who knows… they might start losing their matches soon(well I hope so).
Later in the night, it was time to head to the streets and have a watch of what was happening on the New Year’s Eve. I must say, it’s always pleasing to watch the fireworks outside and everywhere was very cold, it’s always cold in the nights during the harmattan. Lots of people out there just celebrating for making it into the new year. The fireworks were just amazing to watch, and some people I don’t know…. out there pulling of some stunts with motorbikes and cars. It was fun, and I hope nobody got injured in the process.
We went home at around 2:00 am, that was on the next day which is Sunday. I slept through and woke up almost getting to 9 am, man was very tired from all the walking on the streets and stuff. I woke up, prayed even though it’s not something to proud of praying so late… but what can I do. I was very hungry when I woke up and so decided to make some quick breakfast after praying.
Our local football league had resumed from the Christmas break and so we had to go show our support to the team. The match was scheduled at 9:00 am, we missed almost half of the first 45 minutes of first half. Luckily we didn’t miss much action since it was goalless when we arrived. The match ended with a score of 2-1 in favor of my team, even the goal the opponent scored was as a result of a goal keeper error, mind you, our team has been unbeaten in the league. When they come out top of the league, they’ll face play offs and when they qualify, we move to the division 1 league.
So after the match, we decided to pass by an old friend’s place from high school. We haven’t seen each other for sometime due to all the school work and stuff. We had a little chat, remembered old stuff and all that then watched some movies. It was really nice to have a chat with him, we’ve been friends from primary and I hope that bond never fades.
Well that’s all about it, the weekend was stressful, fun and exciting as Chelsea drew with Nottingham Forest. They were saying “it’s just Nottingham Forest” when we beat them. Okay, thank you for visiting this blog and I hope to see you on the next ;).
Oh almost forgot… Happy New Year, I hope this new year brings us a lot of success, joy and happiness and may our goals be accomplished this year and more.
