It feels so good to be free at last!
For the past three weeks now we have been writing exams combine with my baby too it has not been an easy one doing two things at the same time...and the only helper that I have is my mom who travel one week before I finished my exams.
I needed to study so hard for this exams, I used some our course outline, browse and go through my handouts I sleep three to four hours daily and mostly I do midnight readings. Whenever I'm having difficulty I go to my coursemate house for her to put me through where I'm finding it difficult to understand she will explain more for me while I do thesame where she's couldn't understand.
We are five of us we always hangout together gist, play and study together in school...this semester was really a tough one for everyone, some students said is a set up semester. After staying at home for eight months strike due to inadequate salary payment to lecturers and non academic staffs, the ASUU (Academic staff union of universities) decided to embark on a strike for all the federal universities in Nigeria by doing that the government will adhere to their quest of increment of salaries, but according to ASUU president Emmanuel Osodeke that the government only reached a mutual agreement with them and made other promises to them, hopefully the government might do something this time around and not empty promises as usual because is just like a normal routine making promises without keeping any of it.
Because of that strike millions of Nigerian students wasted a whole year at home, many who would have graduated or move to another level were delayed so because of that our School federal university Katsina Nigeria made a decision to rush the students in order to meet up with the calendar due to wasted year of sitting at home. Because of the strike many got married, relocated, started new businesses, new work...
Many students also find it difficult to go back to school they become reluctant and lazy. many students gave birth and also came back to School to study with their babies, I was among them too.
Students were been rushed in terms of lectures, tests, assignment, class presentations, group work even when exam time was fast approaching still everything was still been rush making the students not to have enough time to prepare or read for exams. four days to exams we were still coming for lectures many students were angry and have to add extra effort in readings and research, some read till day break (through the night) is not easy to deny yourself sleep, rest and good foods just to have good grades. many were wishing for the exams to be over with at least to sleep, relax and rest for all the stressful time and effort put towards the success of this exam while others who depend on exam malpractice one of my coursemate was caught with exam malpractice before the invigilators could get hold of evidence of malpractice she chew the paper immediately and drank water to go down in her stomach she made sure there is no trace of evidence though one of the invigilator did some video but there were no evident in the video the whole issue was dismissed due to lack of evidence.
Finally today was our last paper for this semester examinations i couldn't hold my excitement or get enough of it but to celebrate with my friends while we make merry after our last paper, we took some nice photos and shouted exam free days at last... that feeling to go home, rest, relax, eat good food and spend time with our loved ones is amazingly beautiful.
