I immediately went to the flower shop after my class since I was running late on time. I picked the most beautiful flowers in my eyes and asked for the prices. He is fond of white roses, and I scanned the displayed bouquets hoping to find one with white roses, but none of them had it. I decided to just buy a red rose bouquet that was already made, as it was the most convenient option with time running out. I paid $18 for the bouquet and left the shop.
I waited for Azi, and minutes later, he arrived. I was playing with Lego at that time, but I couldn’t assemble it since I am not a visual-spatial individual. I got bored and ordered a Dark Choco Frappe in venti size to entertain myself with its sweetness while waiting.
When Azi arrived, I gave him the bouquet, and he was genuinely happy about the surprise. I was really happy with his reaction, and I could tell that he truly loved the gift. I was deeply touched by how pure and real his reaction was, and it made me even happier than I expected. We had a few minutes of silence as he tried to process the moment, and I was just there, looking at him, while we both enjoyed the moment together.
I know this might sound cringe, but this was exactly how it happened. I took a photo of him while he was holding the flowers, and you could really see how shy he was during the photo. This man is so full of life. His vibrant energy makes me so interested in him—the way he laughs, the way he does everything with intention and maturity, and the way he appreciates everything I do. Love grows in the most unexpected ways, and this one grew the same way. Loving this man is a plot twist, and experiencing this kind of love feels liberating and freeing.
After spending time at Uncle Brew, we went to the plaza of Bogo City. We bought fries and lemonade at Worthy Spot Cafe to eat while walking around the plaza and Pantaland. We enjoyed the ambiance of the plaza as usual. This place carries a lot of memories for me since my first year of college, whether in friendship or personal moments.
After our time in Bogo City, we went to our usual cafe spot in our town of San Remigio, which is MilkT Cafe, and had our dinner before going home. We ordered sizzling chicken, french fries, and beef bulgogi. Since we both didn’t want to drink any more sweet drinks, we decided to just have a glass of water. The cafe has a perfect and cozy ambiance, and what I like most about this place is that it isn’t crowded and is usually very quiet. Quiet to the point that our laughter echoes through the room, making it feel like we were the only ones there aside from the staff and crew.
Love is not always between a man and a woman. Sometimes, love is between two men who are pure and loving toward each other, who love without fear, who live without expectations, and who choose a life that is freeing and authentic. While we do encounter some homophobic comments during our dates, we are mature enough to handle these situations. At the end of the day, what truly matters are our families and the people we value the most—those who lovingly support us without judgment or hateful words.
