Just a quick update because life is so busy these days that I couldn’t touch my phone as much as usual. My boyfriend and I had a quick visit to the Lapyahan Coast of our town in San Remigio after my class today so I could relax my mind and body after a long, exhausting class. And when I say relax, I mean a peaceful walk with him and a breather from responsibilities instead of sleeping. It just works well this way, although I fully knock out every time after we go out.
When we arrived on the shore, there were few to no people I could see in the water. Some were swimming and some were sitting on the sand, but it was not crowded. Only a few people were present, which was a good scenario because I hated crowds today. We walked westward along the coast where no on-standby visitors could be seen, and we could fully experience the beautiful sunset without noise and disturbance from other people.
There were no disturbances, indeed, but the mosquitoes did their thing. They were flying above us and I couldn’t focus on our conversation because I was giving my full attention to these insects that might give us dengue. Moments later, we left and searched for another spot free from mosquito bites.
The sunset and the whole view were so perfect and pleasing to the eyes, appropriate for those who wish to have a break from everything and enjoy nature and let it do its natural work, which is therapy. Not only was I relaxed because of the beautiful sunset, but also because I was with my man who gives me butterflies and funny jokes at the same time, and he really ensures I am enjoying our time. Our conversation and funny moments did most of the relaxing part, but his company is more effective than others. It was a great opportunity to witness this stunning and majestic sunset filled with vibrant colors at the end of the day, in its final hours before dusk.
After the sunset seaside experience, we headed to our favorite cafe in our town, MilkT Cafe, to eat dinner. Our dinner is usually spent with perfect conversation and some good questions for each other that might help us navigate the future of our relationship. Sometimes we bring sticky notes and a pen to write down things we want to remember the next time we find ourselves recollecting our good days together.
For the record, we ate two orders of Beef Pepper Steak, a set of Buffalo Wingers, Sizzling Pork Chop, Nutella Waffle, and Regular Fries. It was too much for the two of us, and we ended up bringing home the fries and waffles because we couldn’t finish everything after eating our meals. The food was good, and it cost us 1,065 only to have these unique foods we don’t eat often. We only had bottled water because we have been consuming sweet drinks more often than not these days, so we figured we should replace them with water.
After dinner, we headed to the next town to buy some stuff at Watsons, especially my boyfriend’s skin essentials. We got home first before heading to Bogo City so we could bring jackets since it was rainy at night. I was like a kid tonight following him, searching for his essentials, and I was just waiting for him to finish his Watsons shopping. I was just waiting for him, but I knew he would also buy mine, which he already knows what to buy. The store was not crowded at that time and again, I was not drained from this walk because I was with my boyfriend in a place that was not so loud.
After that, to finish everything and wrap our day, we headed to a foot spa and massage place to have a Brazilian full body massage since I really wanted to relax completely. We had a foot spa first, which was just a quick one, and then a full body massage happened after. It was one hour and we paid $10 per person, good for one hour, and the music was so relaxing that I slept the whole session. The man who massaged me just woke me up after it ended. I fell asleep because it was so relaxing. Take note that it was my first time, so the first moments of the massage were a bit uncomfortable because I am not used to being touched, but since I am the one who needs it, I still gave it a go. It was worth the money because now I can’t even feel the back pain I was feeling these past few days.
Days like this may seem simple and unplanned, but they are the ones I hold onto the most. A sunset, a quiet walk, shared meals, small errands, and deep rest — all ordinary things made meaningful by the right company. In the middle of busy days and exhausting responsibilities, this kind of pause reminds me that life is not only about deadlines and duties, but also about moments that soften the heart and make everything feel lighter.
