Uno de los grandes desafíos que enfrenta nuestra sociedad de hoy en día es la pérdida de los valores; lo cual se puede evidenciar casi que día a día, creo que nosotros como docentes jugamos un papel fundamental en tratar de recuperar estos valores que son tan importantes para una sana convivencia; en lo particular siempre trato con todo mis grupos de estudiantes de ponerlos en práctica y de promoverlos en la convivencia dentro del aula de clase.
Así que, aprovechando la celebración del Día del amor y la amistad, organice un pequeño intercambio de regalos en un grupo donde he podido evidenciar muchas diferencias, rivalidades y enemistades dentro del aula de clases ;ellos están así como que sectorizados; pequeños grupos que solo se tratan entre ellos, he tratado de inculcarles que debe existir compañerismo entre ellos, el respeto, la colaboración, la tolerancia; así que, organicé el intercambio, no tanto por el regalo; sino para tratar de crear un espacio para el compañerismo y el trato entre los pequeños grupos.

I believe that we as teachers play a fundamental role in trying to recover these values that are so important for healthy coexistence. In particular, I always try with all my groups of students to put them into practice and promote them in the classroom.
So, taking advantage of the celebration of Love and Friendship Day, I organized a small gift exchange in a group where I have seen many differences, rivalries, and enmities within the classroom. They are kind of divided into small groups that only interact with each other. I have tried to instill in them that there should be camaraderie, respect, collaboration, and tolerance among them. So, I organized the exchange, not so much for the gift, but to try to create a space for camaraderie and interaction between the small groups.
Cuando se fueron a entregar los papelitos les aclaré que no iba a aceptar que cambiaran el nombre de quién les había tocado, pues la idea era crear un espacio para el compañerismo; mucho se quejaron, muchos al principio se molestaron, insistieron un poco para que les cambiara pues, porque no trataban a la persona que les había tocado; no hubo espacio para el cambio, cada quien le iba a regalar a quien le correspondía.
Llegado el día del intercambio, una de las condiciones era que la persona debía decir algo positivo de esa otra persona a quién le iba a regalar; fue bastante hermoso, bastante emotivo, muchos alumnos que estaban en grupos diferentes pudieron encontrar algo positivo en esa otra persona a quien no trataban; al final tomamos muchas fotos en grupo, bromeamos, reímos un rato y creo que por lo menos en una medida pequeña se logró el objetivo, se hizo en un ambiente de paz, de armonía, de respeto, de tolerancia; que creo debe existir dentro de todo grupo en los distintos espacios donde convivimos.

When they went to hand in their slips of paper, I made it clear that I would not accept any changes to the names they had been assigned, as the idea was to create a space for camaraderie. Many complained, many were upset at first, and they insisted that I change their assignments because they did not get along with the person they had been assigned. There was no room for change; each person was going to give a gift to the person they had been assigned.
When the day of the exchange arrived, one of the conditions was that each person had to say something positive about the person they were giving a gift to. It was quite beautiful, quite emotional. Many students who were in different groups were able to find something positive in that other person they didn't know. In the end, we took lots of group photos, joked around, laughed for a while, and I think that, at least to a small extent, the objective was achieved. It was done in an atmosphere of peace, harmony, respect, and tolerance, which I believe should exist within every group in the different spaces where we live together.
