Ya'll see this NYSC registration thing ehnnn... It's more than we think walahi. The stress behind this stuff is a whole lot, do we talk about the early hour you'll have to wake up to be at the registration venue on time, or the crowd you'll meet at the venue no matter how early you go,
or even the heat you'll have to deal with coupled with the fact that the weather isn't friendly at all! Or do we even talk of the baba of them all, the network issue. You'll be trying to beat time, struggling to do one or two and right in the middle of it, network go seize and it'll take a lot of time before the server starts running again and mind you if you're not fast enough it will go off again, and mind you each time network seizes, the moment it comes back up you're starting from the beginning again oo not where you stopped or was interrupted from.
So today, being the 7th of April, 2025 the NYSC registration for a fresh set of NYSC Corper kicked of, and this exercise /registration is expected to late till the 11th of April, which is on Friday. Giving every applicant 5 days to register. Now imagine the thousands of Nigerians struggling to register as soon as possible mostly for the purpose of working out a favorable service state.
I've been at this registration center since 6am in the morning but due to network issues and server mishaps I couldn't do anything through out.
I was able to just complete the first stage of the process on my phone which was the stage where I send my email address and await a link which was to be sent to my email for me to move forward with my registration.
The first email I registered with was my Gmail account and I waited for about 4 to 5 hours without getting any link. It was more or less a general network issue, so a lot of people started using yahoo and their links were being sent within minutes, so I decided to create a yahoo account and do same which I did. Omo my story was different ooo, I still got no link or mail from nysc I was asked to just keep refreshing and checking that it would eventually come up. That's how I was refreshing my feed like my life depended on it till got too tired and hungry and the heat was making me feel all clammy and sweaty I was there till 5pm and I couldn't do anything. I was too tired to even muster any more strength or energy to wait again I decided to go and try again. I'll probably keep trying when I get home and see how lucky I might get before tomorrow. I can't wait to be through with all these stress walahi. Funny thing is this isn't even the last of the NYSC Shege, there's more still to come and I'm this tired. I really pray for strength at this point. I thought that was it for me oo, only for me to get home and by 5:43 when I logged into my email account, yahoo precisely I saw the link I kept waiting for, despite being angry and stressed,
I had no choice but to take my bathe again and head back to the cafe by few minutes past 6pm. I got there, did what I was to do on my phone, then went for my capturing, thinking it wasn't going to be so much of a hassle and it would be fast I was eager. Only for me to get there to see another crowd waiting to be captured, I still no panic, I decided to stay with full hopes of finishing everything and going home latest by 8pm. I stayed there till 9pm and I couldn't do the capturing. I was tired, my dad had to come check me by 8 and he waited till that 9pm, he was also tired and was even beginning to make it seem like it was my fault. We had to leave there by 9pm o. I'll have to be there again tomorrow before 6am to do what I have to early. The most painful part of this whole thing is the amount of money I spent on transportation.
At this point, I wish every NYSC candidate all the strength, patience and wit to go through the whole NYSC wahala cause it's really not easy. To those who have gone through this phase, I respect you guys walahi and to those still serving I wish ya'll the best, to us going into it now, I wish us strength cause we'll need it and to those yet to be on board I wish you guys the very best and I pray you finish well🙏
