I will ask you this question , do you know someone can be knowledgeable and still lacking wisdom? Yes , the answer is Yes. We lived in a world that's full of knowledge, inventions and technologies are increasing day by day. People are graduating from primary down to secondary schools to universities, colleges, polytechnic, so many different higher institutions.
So many people believes to have acquired different qualifications and certificates of different areas of ramifications or levels. Everybody wants to go to school and at the end aquire a certificate. People want to be feel among the categories of caliber of people that acquired higher qualifications.
But only few people have wisdom. Because wisdom is not taught in schools or higher institutions but wisdom is acquired by experienced. You doesn't need to be a degree holder or master holder to get wisdom. What then is knowledge?
Knowledge is having a general understanding awareness, familiarity about an information or place or something. When you check around nowadays , you will see young people who are degree holders , master holders and some are even pursuing their PhD programs.
People tends to show a level of intelligence and knowledge yet lacks wisdom. Does it mean with the rate which knowledge is everywhere and rampant yet unemployment have cage people in one place. People struggles and hustle looking for jobs despite the fact they have acquired the knowledge. Having knowledge alone is not enough, you need wisdom.
What then would you say is wisdom?
Wisdom is the ability to apply the correct or relevant knowledge , which is the insightful ideas and understanding , experience , you gained from the knowledge for the greatest good or outcome. Now, would you agreed with me that a lot of knowledgeable people these days doesn't use their knowledge for good ? They doesn't use what they have acquired for the betterment or for the good of the people. People used their knowledge to do evil , hurt one another. They used their insightful ideas to destroy people's lives around them instead of building people's lives. We all know knowledge is informations and information is power. The use this power they have acquired to block people destinies , and killed innocent people that doesn't support them in their evil plans. What then is the used of your knowledge if you doesn't use it correctly for the betterment of humanity? That mean you lack wisdom.
Do you ever thought how our old parents were able to trained their children in universities and colleges yet they were building their houses in the village at the same time? Most of our old parents didn't go to school, or attained any higher institutions let alone to acquired any higher qualifications. But they were able to work according to their plans and carry out their plans adequately and achieve their goals positively. They are not knowledgeable but they are wise, they have used what they know for the greatest good of humanity. But nowadays you will see a young man with degree or master qualifications working and earning much at month end and collecting huge salary yet cannot pay his children school fees in primary and secondary schools even though he has knowledge but lacks wisdom to apply the right principles to achieve a positive goal.
The quality of one's mind determined the quality of life ones lived. We lived in a world that's full of knowledge and knowledgeable people but lacks wisdom. Anything that's conceivable is definitely obtainable when wisdom is applied to it. How much time one spend on a decision or ideas will determine how much wisdom can be derived. Some people don't think long over a matter, they're always in a rush to conclusion. They claim they know all things without asking for help form other people that's why you will see a woman or man trying to get a project done but failed half way for many years.
Instead of asking those people that did it how they managed and completed their own but because he or she thinks is knowledgeable enough will not help for her People that think on so many things at a time hardly able to get the solution to the challenge facing them. People with so much knowledge thinks on so things and doesn't seek for advice from other people. They think they knows it all, they doesn't need anybody help or opinion over a matter. As good as knowledge is, we should apply wisdom to it to have a notable outcome at the end. Use your knowledge for the good of other and the correctly use of knowledge or rightly application of knowledge is wisdom.
Finally, wisdom is the ability to think deep over a matter and thinking takes times. Wisdom is also an act of receiving advice, opinions from people and evaluating it deeply before sourcing out the good and knowledgeable information gathered and take an appropriate action that will yield a relevant outcome to people.
