"New year, new life," is what I grew up hearing people say anytime we enter another year.
Actually, every new year is another opportunity given to each and everyone of us to become better versions of ourselves. It doesn't matter whether you failed the previous years or not, the reason why the first day of the year always reads 1/1 is to create the awareness that it's another beginning so we can take advantage of the fresh page before us to write a better story there.
Most people see a new year as ordinary and casual because nothing is new about it. Same sun that shines on other days shines that day, night falls like it does on that day like any other day. It's the same time in the clock, the same breeze that blows and the same sky. Everything is just the same and they ain't wrong.
However, The reason why they see it that way it's because they are not aware that nature will always remain the way it is. The new page is for us not for nature.
What makes a year new is you, the decisions you make are what make it count. If every man decides to become good in the world today, the world will change, including nature.
It's so unfortunate that even when others are entering into a new year, others are out there stocked in the old ones doing the same thing over and over. New year is a personal thing and the decisions we make are what makes it valid.
Like everyone else, every new year, we reflect on our lives and try to make critical decisions that will make life meaningful in the subsequent months.
I have made such decisions before and before I reached the second month of the year, I realized that I already broke those decisions.
Honestly, if only we can be disciplined enough to stick to our resolutions we would become successful in life but the discipline is not easy, nevertheless we will never stop trying.
For this year, I am resolving to become an intentional individual. Last year, I couldn't achieve so much even though I ventured into a lot of things . When I was reflecting on my life recently I discovered that my problem isn't starting a thing.
It's in not taking it seriously and doing it like a do or die affair. It's one thing to sign in for something, it's another to be deliberate in ensuring that it becomes a success.
So, this year, I am going to work on that. I won't be like I was in the previous year when I was doing many things at a time, I'll pick one thing and do it like my life depends on it. Whatever I sign in for, even if it's not favourable I'll hold onto it passionately until I attained mastery.
In conclusion, it's one thing to plan, it's another to stick to it. If you can do both, then success will locate you. I wish you a great year. May we achieve our heart desires. Happy New Year.
