Monetary Support Or Skill Empowerment

Money is a very powerful tool in our world; with it, only a few things can not be done. As much as anyone desires to do good and perform the work of charity, he or she can only do a little without money.

Due to how money is prioritized, today, if you visit someone to render assistance to him or her, one of the things the person would be expecting from you is money.

Don't get me wrong, there are forms of charity that don't require money directly, but many don't regard it, regardless of whether or not it was done with a pure heart.

Money is very crucial, but sadly, it doesn't last forever. Someone described it as the wind, which comes and goes, and we can't even tell where it is going.

This is why instead of giving people money, I always prefer that they be given something that would be a source.

Money will come and go, but a good source will remain flowing for life.

When it comes to charity, I wish it were possible that instead of handing the less privileged money, a system should be created where they are taught diverse skills according to their strengths and then funded to start life afterwards.

Someone might say what of the blind, how would they cope? I have a blind woman in my church who makes bags with beads, and guess what? She is so good at it.

I have also come across a crippled woman weaving traditional attire. I can go on mentioning people whom I thought couldn't do anything due to their conditions, but pushed their situation aside and mastered a skill that is empowering them.

It's difficult to learn a skill that I know, but I think it's worth it. I feel that in a situation where a needy person is given a skill, it is just like he or she is given a support system to survive.

With or without external support, they can survive on their own through their skills. This will help reduce dependence on people to survive. Whether or not People help them , they will be fine on their own.

It's not easy to live every day expecting someone to support you. There are days when support won't come. Does that mean that the person should be stranded because no one supported them that day?
