No one can finish everything in this life all we have to do is try our best and leave the rest, it will always continue and without our presence, some people will always take it upon themselves to do their best so all we have to do is to work and leave time for a break.
How to balance work with life
This is an interesting topic that I have been pondering over for something, an adage says all work without play makes Jack a dull boy, I was tagged workaholic some years back, I was feeling myself and always wanted to impress my boss, I worked in a private company some years back, I was so glad when I got the job, it was a nice paying job but no rest for me.
All I was doing then was to impress everyone around me, I always worked as if I owned the company, I was always working for a better reputation and make the company move forward but I was setting myself back without notice, I lost my relationship because of this job, I had no time for myself not to talk About my fiancee, I care about the company than my wellbeing, I prioritize the company over my life.
After some months I was relieved from the job because of the economic situation of the country that year, I thought of it and begged but my boss said there was nothing he could do about it, I cried my eyes out because I invested my time on it and this cost me my relationship of five years to be in vain, I decided to balance job and life.
When I got a new job, I always applied for leave and vacation, I didn't invest much in the job that would lead me to trouble, I always came first and balanced my work and life, getting weeks of vacation is what I always demand for every year because I wouldn't want to invest my time and energy like I did in my former job, I was pained because I couldn't have time for myself.
It is better to set boundaries between work and my life and this helped me a lot, I never added a minute from my closing hour, I always close when others are closing, and always use my free period well and enjoy my life than to work as if I have no place to go.
Also, I have time for my family and friends and attend any function that I am invited to rather than kill myself with work, by doing this I get to meet with friends and have fun, go out every Saturday, and limit my excuses, I do not allow anything to take my weekend away from me, I prioritize my weekend over work because that is the only chance I have to enjoy the day to the fullest.
Also, I never allow one to affect another, my work will never be a hindrance to my personal life and vice versa, I do my work diligently and get the best out of it also I enjoy my life to the fullest, carry out my duty at home, have time for myself and my fiancee, also give room for communication rather than sitting on PC 24/7 and neglecting others, it is always good to know when to stop rather than been tag workaholic and later lose the job like me.
Remember, achieving a balance between work life and personal endeavors is a continuous process that requires effort, commitment, and self-care.
This is my response to this week's episode of #hivereachout community prompt.
