My Schoolmates and I at Federal University Lafia: How We Spend Time Together in School
As a 500-level student at Federal University Lafia, I have had many experiences that have shaped my academic journey and personal life. Among the most memorable are the moments I share with my friends—Queen, John, and Victor. We’ve been through a lot together, and the way we spend time both in and outside of the classroom has helped create a strong bond between us that I’ll always treasure.
In school, we usually attend lectures together, and we like to sit close to each other whenever possible. We often joke that we understand lectures better when we sit as a group. During class, we exchange ideas, help each other with notes, and clarify confusing points. After lectures, we usually head to the library or find a quiet place around campus to revise or work on assignments. Studying as a team has helped us improve academically and taught us the value of teamwork.
When we’re not busy with academics, we like to relax and catch up. One of our favorite hangout spots is the open field near the faculty buildings. Sometimes Queen and I just sit and chat, while John and Victor might join a football match. We also enjoy watching other students play, laughing and cheering them on. These moments help us relieve stress and stay energized for the busy days ahead.
We also make time for fun during weekends. We often go out to eat, especially when one of us gets some extra pocket money. Whether it’s suya from a local joint or fried rice at a small restaurant in Lafia town, we always enjoy our food more when we’re together. Sometimes we go shopping at the market or just stroll through town, sharing jokes and talking about life, relationships, and our future dreams.
Queen is the calm and caring one in our group—always ready to listen and offer advice. John brings the jokes and comic relief, especially when we’re stressed out with schoolwork. Victor is the deep thinker—he always has a fresh perspective on things. Together, we balance each other out and support one another in every way possible.
We also attend school events together—departmental gatherings, social nights, and sometimes religious programs. Dressing up for these events and going as a group makes the experience more fun. We dance, take pictures, and create memories that will last beyond our years in school.
In our hostel rooms or common areas, we often play games, listen to music, or simply gist about random topics. These little moments of laughter and companionship are what I cherish the most. Life at Federal University Lafia would not be the same without Queen, John, and Victor.
As I prepare to graduate soon, I know that the time I’ve spent with my schoolmates—especially these three friends—will always remain a special part of my life. Fulafia live to see again.
