When it comes to writing formulas, everyone has a formula he or she is using to create an amazing prompt to keep everyone engaged.
Most times for me,engagement is not just my aim,I want to write a prompt that is passing a message or telling a story that someone will be able to learn from.
What I do is firstly visit the communities, check the topics. Sometimes community topics for the week prompt are so exciting that I just want to start writing immediately.
If the topic is so interesting that I want to start writing immediately because it is somehow related to me, maybe it concerns an event that happened to me that I can't wait to share or I have had some talk about it.
While sometimes some community topics are interesting and I want to write about the topic but don't know where or how to start from, this is the part I need my formula.
Now I have three formulas which mostly work for me, firstly I think deeply and calmly, secondly I don't jump into writing, thirdly I engage.
My first formal entry is I think deeply and calmly, now when it comes to writing about a weekly prompt in any community, I think deeply and calmly because it is not just writing about a topic,It also should not just be me understanding what I am writing.
Any one that will be reading my entry should understand where I am coming from and where I am heading to and also understand why I arrived at where I did arrive,my beginning should alley with the end.
Now my second formula is I don't jump to write, personally when engaging in another person's entry I want to enjoy it,I want to feel it,I want to get the story they are telling,I want to learn something from the entry.
So I don't just jump to write,I make sure if what I am writing is interesting,if it is engaging and if it carries everyone along not just me, and if I was the one reading it will I be bored or not,and is there anything to learn? and what is there to learn? These are questions I ask myself.
When I am done analyzing and I realize it is worth it and indeed it is going to be what everyone and anyone will enjoy and not regret reading then I start to write.
My third and last formal but my favorite and most powerful formula, ENGAGING, now engaging is my favorite and powerful formula because it has gone a long way for me.
Most times I am lost and not sure of what to do after my first and second formula fail me. I engage, while engaging new ideas come up in my head and pass events that will help me.
And I get to know other writers' minds from their stories,I get to understand their ways of thinking,I get to learn from experience not just for writing purposes but for life purposes.
