There's a common saying that goes: "Show me how to catch a fish and don't give me a fish". This is commonly said every now and then but its practice is not often. Just as the prompt explanation said, people are actually in deep need and whenever you approach them and want to offer help, what comes to their mind first is to seek money to sort out their needs especially in a situation where the person hasn't eaten or is in chronic debt.
But to be sincere, having a skill that will help is far more than just the instant monetary help. People, including me know about this but they just choose the instant money tip.
This is where the politicians used to take advantage of the masses, they know that giving people money can quench their hunger and at that moment, the people will be moved and see that the politicians are good. This may not make a lot of sense but it's exactly what's happening in our world today.
If that hungry person can bear a little further and go for skills instead of money, within a short time, the person won't have to hunt for money so badly just to eat. If that hungry person who always chooses money instead of skill, can just bear it a little, he wouldn't have to be known as someone who's always suffering.
If I were to be approached today for help with these two options, I would choose to go for a skill to make money.
There's a trend in our society wheby a situation where people are enrolled for empowerment in learning a skill and mastering it. After the learning process, the government will empower the candidates with equipment worthing big amount of money. These Candidates will go ahead to sell off the equipment. That's the level of hunger and how people just want that instant satisfaction.
