While I was in secondary school, the subjects that stood out for me were Business Studies and Social Studies. Business Studies is a subject that deals with anything related to business, and Social Studies is the study of our social life, culture, and way of life. I loved these two subjects because I hate calculations. Those two subjects were mostly reading and writing, with no calculations in Social Studies, while Business Studies had a little calculation of profit and loss, and that was all.
I love to read, which is why I enjoyed these subjects. During exams, the only thing I had to do was read the subject material, and I didn't have to worry about calculations. I always passed these subjects because, even if I wasn't reading other subjects, I would surely read Social Studies and Business Studies.
When I entered senior secondary school, Commercial Studies was the advanced version of Business Studies, and it was still my best subject. This subject also dealt with business and included a little calculation.
We have three departments in my secondary school: Art, Science, and Commercial class. You have to choose one when you get to secondary school. I followed friends to Science class, but the calculation of Physics and Chemistry made me run back to my Commercial class.
It's not that we don't do calculations in Commercial class, but little and straightforward calculations. With the help of tutorials, I was able to overcome the calculation challenges, and the reading part was always very easy for me.
My love for this subject led me to pursue Business Administration in school. Although Business Administration as a course involved some calculations, especially borrowed courses from the Accounting department like Cost Accounting and Statistics, my passion for the subject kept me going.
My love for this subject made me finally choose it as my discipline, and I'm now a certified Business Administrator and Manager. The course has been helpful in my baking business, teaching me how to identify the best location, target my audience, and calculate profit and loss. Business Administration and Management is simply about managing one's own business or someone else's.
Another valuable thing I've learned from studying this subject is applying its principles to my personal life. It's taught me how to manage my finances effectively, which has been incredibly beneficial. I don't regret studying this course, and I'm happy to see it helping me now.
