Motivation is what makes you want to start something, it's that feeling you get when you're super excited about something. Motivation gives us energy but the truth is that it doesn't always last. There are times when you feel lazy, tired or reluctant. That's where we get discipline to come in.

Discipline is the force that keep you moving or going even when you don't feel like it. It's what gets you out of bed even though the bed feels warm. Discipline is doing what is right, not what is easy, yes it's not always fun but it'll help build an habit a strong mind.
Let's say for instance you might feel motivated to exercise just because you want to be healthy, motivation is what get you to start. But discipline is what makes you get up the next day and keep pushing.
Motivation reminds us why we started something in the first place while discipline teaches us to be strong even when motivation fades. They work together to help is build a better life.
There are times when people wait for motivation before they do things but that's wrong, if you're disciplined and start what you want to do, motivation might come back later. Whether in school, at home or in the office, we need both, now a child might be motivated to want to pass exams but it's discipline that makes the child to read everyday.
I have learnt from experience that you don't need to feel like doing something before you do it. You only need to start it and as time goes one, it'll get easier. That's what we call discipline, doing what you need to do even if you don't feel like doing it.
Few months back when I resided in okitipupa, things were a bit tough and all I could do to earn cash was teaching so during breaks no money. I couldn't keep depending on just salary to feed my kids and myself, so I decided to make some pastries and hawk them.
I didn't want to do it initially because I'll have to walk under the scorching sun or rain to sell, when I started it I was tired after the first day by the second day I didn't want to go again but I had to, I didn't have choice as time went on I got used to it.
I believe motivation and discipline work together, one can't work without the other. Motivation gives us dream, but discipline helps us to build it. When you have both, there is no limit to what you can achieve.
