A popular saying once says that giving someone a fish can never be the same as teaching someone how to catch fish itself. And I totally agree with that because the fish given to someone will definitely finish someday, but once the person learns how to catch fish, then the person will always find his or her way to make fish available for himself or herself all the time.
Charity today is gradually turning into giving money to someone in need, and I believe it is something that many of us know about because it is something very common that we normally witness on different occasions.
In my perspective, I think the reason why people easily give money as charity is because money is something valuable that can be exchanged for anything of your choice, whether food, clothing, or payment of bills, depending on what you want to use the money for.
On the other hand, offering charity as a way of giving a helping hand to someone in need through helping the person become independent on his or her own is one of the greatest ways to help someone in life. But in this type of charity, so many things are involved.
First and foremost, I believe it is better for you to know your stand before you engage in this type of charity because if you are not financially stable, it might affect you by becoming a setback, especially if the person is not ready to help himself or herself.
One convincing saying once says that you can take a horse to the river, but you can't force it to drink water. That is to say that you might desire to help someone become independent on his or her own, but there are possibilities that the person in question might not be ready to take his or her life seriously. From my experience, I have come to realize that some people are in a bad situation today, and it wasn't caused by anything else but laziness. I understand the fact that life is not always favourable to everyone, and that is one of the reasons why we need to take our lives very seriously.
Some facts about this are that I have personally seen people with disabilities, and they are still working to survive. They are doing their best to put food on their tables without considering the fact that they cannot do all the things that a complete person does.
Again, by looking around, I have come across different people without any disabilities, and they still beg for help. So I think it is based on people's mindset. Once you take your life very seriously, you won't hesitate to take any opportunities that come your way.
So my closing remark is that charity is good when it is practiced by giving money and also by helping people become independent on their own. But I think it is better to understand the people you are helping first before you even start to consider either giving money or other valuable things. Lastly, I see nothing right in trying to help someone who is not ready to help himself or herself because any effort made by helping in any way will most surely be a waste of time.
Thanks for your continuous support 🙏 ❤️
